Kyoto is such a big city, but I have to say that is hotel is in a very convinient location, in an area where you can walk thru every diretion and look many amazing stuff in the way.The walking distance to Nishiki Market for example is …

Rooms were on the smaller side but was doable. Breakfast buffet option on the pricer side but was good to try. This hotel has a few locations, so make sure to choose the appropriate one based on what you’re doing. Everything was 12~15 min walking distance for us but that gets tiring especially in the summer heat. I would stay at the Kawaramachi location next time as we found ourselves hanging out in that general area most of the time.

We loved this hotel. It was spacious compared to the 5-star hotel we stayed at in Tokyo…plenty of room for 2 people. I liked that the wet room/bath/shower was separate from the toilet area. The room was quiet. …

Nice hotel, well presented, nice touches such as daily geisha visit. Sadly the bar lets the hotel down, closes early, bartenders are a bit sour and don’t know basic mixed drinks like old fashioned, the cafe doesn’t offer any diary alternatives like oat or soy milk for foreigners.

The 4 Star hotel rating is far from European standards, 3 would be a maximum. We stayed 5 days in July 2024 and would have not considered this hotel if we knew that:1 - Garden is a patio and small terrace on the street. Call it street terrace not garden.2 - Room service every 3 days or extra payment when on Bookings, room service is every day.3 - Breakfast where any expresso or latte is an extra to regular American coffee.4 - Breakfast has to be paid upfront (not in the restaurant) and is 1.900 yens per guest which is largely over priced compared to the other hotels we went in Japan.5 - No laundry service other than 2 coin operated washing machines and 2 driers for 180 rooms, meaning queueing up to 60mns to get a slot, returning 30mns later, wait for a dryer… We chose an hotel and not a Air BnB to maximize our time visiting Kyoto, wrong pick there.A Finance operated hotel where you feel that everything is done to reduce costs and maximize profit.Besides rooms are confortable and location is good. However I feel that for this price and level of customer care there multiple other hotels to consider before.

Very good hotel, especially in terms of value for money. Clean, good located in the heart of Kyoto. Only the rooms are a little small and lose some unnecessary space in my opinion with the table and chairs inside (better let it empty for luggage).
