Such an amazing dessert place! The dishes were mastefully crafted with extreme precision and attention to detail! You must be patient because there is one person doing everything, however, it was more than worth the wait! Plus they have a nice few wines to choose from which are always fun with dessert! If you need something sweet I recommend stopping here!

A truly hidden gem!The tatami mats were a slight adjustment for me. I'm used to a firm futon at home in America. The pillows could use a bit more filling. They're a bit slim for my comfort. The rooms are very nice and well laid out.Storage space is very limited with no iron or board. Simply a closet to hang a few jackets. The tub and shower are literally one room and the construction material for the walls feel a bit plastic like on a cruise ship. But don't let that sway you because whether taking a bath or a shower (in the tub or out of the tub) were all great. The shower controls the head and has an outlet (like the tub). The fridge is tiny and good for bottles from a vending machine. We had to take out the inserts and lay larger bottles at an angle. No microwave in the room. There's a microwave in the basement by the laundry room.Laundry is coin operated, but washer/dryer in one unit (2 units in the room). There is a smoking room in the basement. Now the stellar moment for me was their coffee machine.Best coffee I have had in our 6 day stay here.If you get up and are the first to get coffee...it might be off.Hit the power button, top left red button will get you to brewing window, then hit the middle left, and off you go!It isn't far of a walk to get to the shopping area or to the bus stops to catch the train.

A v conveniently located hotel down Kawaramachi Dori and it’s close to Kyoto-Kawaramachi and Gion-Shijo stations if one is coming via the Hankyu and Keihan lines. The kamo river is close by for a jog by the riverside paths and there are konbinis and nice cafes like Coffee BnA and Ja Reve nearby. The room we booked was a twin room with 2 futons with enough space for both me and my friend. There’s a small fridge for use, a safe and all the necessary toiletries with the exception of toothbrushes/dental care. The toilet and shower area form one area of the room while the rest was for the futons. The hotel service was really good. We initially had a smoky room but they provided us with a switch of rooms promptly without any hassle. We also got their help to book certain tour reservations in Japanese and they also went out of their way to check with us the details of the booking. Special credit goes to Luong, the hotel receptionist who was so kind in helping us. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for any pair who wouldn’t mind staying in a Japanese style hotel in Kyoto with a smaller budget.

Avoid! We were misled by some of the positive reviews for this property. The rooms are tiny, basic and uncomfortable and totally disproportionate to what they charge. The hotel misrepresented their room as suitable for 3 adults and we prepaid our reservation for 5 days in Kyoto. In reality it was a small room with only enough floor space for the 3 futons. There was no space for our luggage (3 suitcases, haversacks) and shoes. Moreover there was no closet nor space to hang our clothes nor were there any chairs. The only option was to lie /sit down on the floor or stand uncomfortably in the middle of a congested room. We asked the reception staff for a larger room and were told that this was the largest room. It was obviously not possible for us to continue our stay in such cramped lodging and we decided to change hotels. This hotel unfortunately was not willing to cancel our reservation and insisted on charging 80% of room rent for day 2 and 50% for days 2&3. We have been unjustly forced to pay the property a significant amount for them dishonestly misrepresenting the size of the room. We are in discussions with the hotel and hope the money can be recovered since otherwise it's tantamount to paying >CHF 800 for a single nights stay in an uncomfortable room. Very uncomfortable experience.

This is a great hotel, located on a blooming street full of cherry blossoms during Sakura. I had a beautiful walk coming back to the hotel at night in a sea of pink flowers.

A wonderful hotel in a modern Japanese style and a good location, not too far from the touristic attractions. The price is reasonable. The room is enough big for your luggage, even though it seems like there isn't much appliance, but everything is enough. Futon is comfortable, the bathtub is amazing, long and spacious, they provide bath salt with different colors and smells on the reception, so we took bath everyday! The only issue - there is no lobby or decent table with a chair where you can work on your computer comfortably, although there is a table in the room of course, a traditional Japanese type.

This is one of the best hotels I stayed in the past two weeks. The staff is very helpful like all others places plus being able to communicate in English. That is very comforting. The room is very clean and roomy enough for spreading stuffsaround. The location is exceptional for it's nearby the river and shopping convenience.
