Two people stayed in a standard twin room. The person in charge will guide you to your room and give you an explanation. When you touch your card key in the elevator, the button for your room's floor will light up.The room is a good size. The shower booth was convenient. It's also nice that you can walk to Kamogawa River.Breakfast starts at 7am.I enjoyed my seat on the 17th floor with a view of the Kamogawa River. It's buffet style, and you choose the ingredients for your omelet and it's cooked right in front of you. They also made French toast.Guests are older.I felt this was more common among European and American people than among Japanese people. It was a very relaxing hotel.

Worst hotel stay ever. Except for the central location, all the rest was a nightmare.Very old hotel with old furniture, old appliances, old style, old carpets, old multimedia (if it can be called as such...).We stayed in a family room (where couples are supposed to sleep in separate beds), which was supposed to be non-smoking and the previous guests clearly smoked in there.Interestingly, under Okura Kyoto definition, swimming pool is considered part of the "fitness club" and kids below 18 aren't allowed. We were offered the kids club option, which is actually a baby club and only available upon reservation with 24h notice. On top of all that, it would have helped if the hotel manager and reception manager would have shown some understanding, however, they were focus on insisting on their definitions and providing stubborn answers. In short, if you want a modern, fresh, flexible and kid-friendly hotel, this is not the hotel you're looking for. If you want something old, inflexible and with unsupportive staff, this is your dream place!

Hotel Okura KyotoI decided to stay at Okura because it has convenient transportation and is safe in many ways. ✧·˚⌖. ꙳I didn't really get a real sense of it because I usually drive there, but it's located in a location with great transportation access, and even if I took a taxi, it was just under 2,000 yen from Kyoto Station. It was also convenient to go out to Osaka after checking in > < ♡This time, we were given a room on the Higashiyama side, and we were able to enjoy the view of the Kamogawa River and the Higashiyama side.Needless to say, the customer service was very relaxing as it was a long-established store full of hospitality 𖤐 ̖́-I was on a trip to Kyoto after doing some business in Osaka, but I was really glad I stayed in Kyoto and Okura instead of Osakaჱ̒^o̴̶̷̤ ·̫ o̴̶̷̤^)

Compared with hotels of the same level in Osaka, this place is much more comfortable.

Used on my first trip to Kyoto. Although overtourism has become a problem these days, I was able to enjoy my stay at the hotel thanks to the well-mannered guests and kind staff.

Had a good stay here for 2 days after our trips and tours around Kyoto. We only stayed here one night. We like that it’s not that crowded and it’s also peaceful tho we wished we stayed just to relax more. The bed was really comfortable and the service was great!
