There was no window that opened in the room and it bothered us a lot! Besides that, the hotel is clean, well maintained and the services it offers are good!

This hotel was not bad in any major ways, it just didn’t quite meet expectations. We booked two rooms, one for my fiancé’s parents and one for us. Aesthetically, it’s lovely and is situated in good distance to public transit with some reliable eateries a short walk away. The staff appeared to be from a variety of backgrounds which was neat and different from our other experiences in Japan. The lobby staff were polite and quick to check us in then grab a complimentary welcome drink, however, it felt like a majority of the restaurant waiters could not communicate without the aid of a device or each others’ support and we did go for dinner one evening during which the wait for our meals and to get staff’s attention was prolonged. The food was great though; we had the buffet breakfast twice, the breakfast box delivery once, and lunch & dinner once as well. The room we were given on the fourth floor was nice with a far off view of mountains but an immediate view of the neighborhood so it felt awkward to have both curtains pulled open. We thought Kyoto would feel less crowded than our prior stop in Osaka, but this was not the case even within the hotel. In particular, we were surprised by the number of children. The amenities were appreciated, from the snack room to the onsen, but the latter clearly did not provide sufficient guidance as I was later politely corrected by a more experienced guest mid-visit. Overall it was a safe and convenient stay, but we’ll probably opt to try a different hotel next time we’re in Kyoto.

During the cherry blossom season, you cannot stay at a hotel unless you stay for two consecutive nights.is.This is the first time I've heard of such a hotel. I would like them to clarify when the cherry blossom season starts and ends (month and day), and they should also state on their website that you cannot stay unless you stay for two consecutive nights.

Stayed here 4 nights.- Rooms: very clean, we had a room with 3 beds and they were all very comfortable. The room was a good size and was modern and had a very relaxing zen feeling. The only thing I was not happy about is that there was only one drawer which is where we kept our bag of dirty laundry and there we a rack with hangers but no closet door so getting our families things, luggage, etc. organized was not easy and made the room look cluttered.I saw some reviews about sirens but we were on the 3rd floor and never heard anything.- Restaurant: great and delicious breakfast choices, plenty of space for seating. Would not fully recommend for dinner though, it took a long time to get our food and each plate came out at different times.- Laundry: the good is that it's next to the snack area and there's plenty of relaxed seating to wait or you can go back to your room and monitor the time/status of each machine from your room's TV. The Bad= the machines are the type that both wash and dry and the clothes were taking too long to dry so I pulled everything out and went to a nearby laundromat where all my clothes got fully dry in 20 minutes for 300 yen. If I stayed here again, I would just go to a nearby laundromat instead to get clothes washed and dried in a shorter amount of time.-Location: Subway and bus stops super close, one day we walked back from Kiyomizu-dera and it took us 22 minutes which is not bad.
