The middle-aged man who answered the phone was so bad! I'm planning to use it from now on, but I'm not looking forward to it anymore. I regret choosing this place. Although the reviews were good, I didn't expect that the receptionist's response would make me feel so bad.

Not the best choice if you’re going to Kyoto with elderly or children.Service: staffs are mostly blunt except for a few who were helpful during our stay. I understand Japanese culture is very particular but for me it is still unacceptable. For example they were going to charge us for extra bottle of water because we need more for the baby. There was also no help with the luggages when we were leaving. Several time we felt very unwelcome.Restaurant: Japanese breakfast is nice, but again because of the lack of service, I felt very pressured rushing to finish every morning because they would come in every 5 min to check whether they can take away the dishes. There is only one restaurant with no in-room dining, so do not expect you can casually dine in or order in-room dining if you arrive late on your first day, which was the case for us, we have to find a restaurant nearby to eat when we arrive at 7, with 2 elderly and a baby, which was very tiring after a long trip.Location: only 7 mins away from Kiyomizu-dera, which is a popular tourist spot. It is located in on a small street so cabs usually take longer time to get in and out because of traffic jam during day time on one-way streets.Room: the room is clean and decent, we stayed on the first floor with private bath which was quite nice, except for the one thing - we reported that the AC was dripping but they never fixed it. We had to use a bucket for bath to hold the dripping water so the carpet wasn’t soaked.Overall we have stayed in many types of hotels in different places in Japan, this is definitely the bottom of the list.

The hotel refused to give us more water despite having a 12 month old baby with us. There was a leakage with the AC in the room. They said they would fix it but they didn’t. They also didn’t clean our room even though we asked for what they call a “full-cleaning.” I came back to the room and the bucket was still there where I left it to catch the dripping water and the carpet was all soaked in water. The sink in the room also gets clogged easily. The pictures of the hotel look way better and newer on Google than what it is in reality. The building is actually quite old inside. We thought we paid more for a better hotel but were extremely disappointed. I mean who is so stingy not to give a baby water for formula? We only asked for ONE small bottle. They only give 2 small bottles each day, but we are THREE people. They don’t count the baby as a person who needs water. The receptionist’s reply was she “CANNOT” give me more water.A few individual staff were ok, but cannot compensate for the unpleasant experience. Felt like they didn’t care and even though they said they would fix something, they didn’t.Location-wise, it looked ok at first since it is close to some sight-seeing areas but restaurants nearby all close early so there is no where to go for dinner. The hotel only serves kaiseki that needs pre-booking. No a la carte. So if you want to eat a regular dinner, don’t come here and don’t bring your baby here. Just don’t.

The service was very friendly and attentive, so I was able to stay without any inconvenience. The hotel interior and rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. It was a superior twin room with a terrace, and I really liked the emotional view and fragrant hinoki bathtub. The breakfast was delicious and the home-cooked dinner served was really impressive. It was also nice that fans and umbrellas were placed in the lobby for guests to use in consideration of the weather, and there were staff who could speak English and Korean, so communication was easy. There are Braille blocks on the stairs for the visually impaired, and the garden is beautifully maintained. The wall interior of the lobby is also luxurious. Since I was told I had to check out early in the morning, I was impressed that they packed a lunch instead of breakfast. I want to come again next time!

·Commentary: A restaurant with excellent service and kind service; Large room space, extremely well-prepared equipment, and a very thorough restaurant- Advantages: ① The inside of the room has a large wooden head bath, the depth is deep enough. ② Equipment is available, high-grade footwear, health care items, useful combs, etc., etc. are included. ③ Geographical location is good, close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple, and the running route is possible. ④ The restaurant is clean and tidy. ⑤ The food is good, the service is good, and you can make a proposal. ⑦ There is one small rest area in the three hotels, free drinks, ice sticks, rice cakes, and tea leaves are allowed to be used. ⑧ The surrounding environment is safe and clean. Tolerance- Points to note: ① Please note that there is a large floor in the private bathroom, but there will be two floors in the future. The bell rings for 70 or 80 minutes.·Application for re-occupation: 4.8/5 (Individual obtains a hotel with a very good representation of the Kyoto area)——————·General review: A relaxing and comfortable hotel with friendly service. A hotel with spacious rooms and a wide range of amenities.-Advantage: ① The room has a large wooden bathtub, which is deep enough to take a bath. ②The amenities are very complete, including skin care products and easy-to-use brushes, and they are very attentive. ③ Good location, close to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and can be reached on foot. ④The hotel is very clean and tidy. ⑤The breakfast is delicious and the service is good, so we recommend purchasing more. ⑥The additional private bath is very comfortable, the bathtub is large, and the water temperature is just right. Lemon water was also provided (I think this experience was the most comfortable bathing experience of my life). ⑦There is a small rest area on the third floor where you can enjoy free drinks, ice cream, cookies, tea and coffee. ⑧The surrounding area is quiet and calm. ⑨The hotel staff is kind and will respond kindly to travelers who cannot speak Japanese.-Cons: ① I requested one large bed in a double room, but in the end two beds were prepared (it didn't affect the experience, but just in case). ②There are not many convenience stores nearby. ③ The private bath time is short, only 50 minutes (I would like to suggest extending it to 70 or 80 minutes, so you don't have to rush to take a bath).· Willingness to stay again: 4.8/5 (Personally, I think it's a very good hotel in the Kyoto area).
