We stayed in a family room with shared bathroom. It had a lovely view into a garden of green with a stone structure outside - very serene and beautiful. …

I cannot rave enough about our stay at Q-Beh. We had access to a full kitchen, decent showers, laundry facilities and a traditional room with a view of the neighbouring garden. AC was on point in the summer heat and the staff were fantastic. I loved reading through the guest books, cooking my own breakfast and being located in the heart of Gion.

Excellent stay. We loved being in Kyoto. You can't jump around in the rooms as it is an old wooden house. Kitchen space is a shared area. Rooms are minimalistic but you don't need more

The staff here at Gion Ryokan G-beh are phenomenal!I unfortunately experienced an ankle injury that reduced my mobility quite a bit during my stay, and the staff went above and beyond. They helped to carry my bags up and down the stairs, they helped call me an ambulance and acted as my translator with the paramedics, they also helped me call a couple of hospitals to find one that would take me.Besides my injury, the staff are kind, funny, and considerate. They work hard, the space is cleaned daily, and they really do appreciate their guests.I absolutely recommend this hostel.

This hostel is in a traditional Japanese style and feels very cosy. It's right in the heart of the historical district and only a stone's throw from some of the essential Kyoto attractions. One of the only problems is that the floor is quite creaky and it's a little sleep-disturbing hearing (and feeling) people moving around at night. Note that the beds are traditional style mats which are thin compared to western mattresses and not necessarily suitable for side sleepers. A mix of families, business people and travellers were staying here.

Great traditional ryokan for groups. As a couple this was nice for Kyoto, especially for the Gion area, but as a couple I believe that this location might not be the one. It is full of groups of people that are making some noise and also the rooms are pretty damp. The best thing about the rooms with a bathroom is the view. It is worth it to wake up to a view like that.

Great location within walking distance to iconic Gion streets. We stayed in a large family room with ensuite so, this review doesn’t relate to the dorm or shared rooms. We enjoyed our stay. Room was large with a lovely outlook into the beautiful garden in the middle and the staff member who checked us in was very helpful and friendly. There’s also a convenient coin laundry and plenty of shared kitchen facilities.I would have given 5 stars however, the staff on check out seemed to rush us. We had 2 young kids and were aware that the checkout time was midday so, I just felt it was a bit unnecessary for the staff to tell us to “hurry up please” at 11:45 when we’re obviously on our way out. Other than that, I can’t fault our stay.

Mixed dorms were good size, you could keep ur luggage next to ur futon. Shower room and toilets were clean and the common areas were nice to meet people and spend time in. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for walking around and close to several bus stops. Would stay here again (:
