I made a reservation on short notice for Obon and stayed on Saturday and Sunday. It is very close to Hikone Castle. I was able to park my car there, and the breakfast was delicious. I don't usually eat a lot of rice, but I finished the meal with the glossy rice. Although it was a shared toilet and bath, it was a clean bath and toilet. There was also a communal refrigerator, so you could buy drinks and cool them down.

[Perfect for sightseeing in Hikone Castle and the castle town and experiencing living in a townhouse]Two couples use this for sightseeing in Hikone. Since it was a budget-friendly trip, I searched for a business hotel and chose it because it was reasonably priced at 6,600 yen per person for a room without meals. It was the perfect accommodation for experiencing the castle town of Hikone.A 5-minute walk from Hikone Castle, ``The Castle Town'' is a quiet building that looks like a movie set and is a townhouse built in the late Edo period. It's a really quiet inn with no people passing by at night. It's in a great location with easy access to Hikone Castle and sightseeing around the castle town. The building uses the twin-bedded room "Ko-Chi" on the second floor. The room was on the opposite side of the front of the inn, so I couldn't hear any noise from the street, the ceiling was high, the room was modern Japanese, and the bed was comfortable. There are no windows in this room, only a large skylight. However, since there were no brides, it got bright early in the morning and I woke up early. It is separated from the next room facing the street in front by a sliding door (which is locked), and can be used as a continuation room when there are no other guests, but during busy periods, there are other guests as well. When you enter, there are only sliding doors, so you can't have a conversation. The downside is that the outdoor unit of the air conditioner on the second floor is installed on the roof directly above this room, so the vibrations of the outdoor unit's compressor are transmitted to the wall, making a low-pitched buzzing sound, so I'm sensitive to such sounds. For those who are concerned about the structure, points will be deducted. (By the way, it was a very cold day with the return of the cold in March, but I turned off the air conditioner and went to bed, so there was no sound.)The view from the large hall on the first floor and the garden from there was a great treat. Apparently they cut down a lot of trees in the garden in 2023, and it was a nice space where you would want to spend a long time with the beautiful view of the temple next door. Please note that the room ``Kei/Kei'' on the first floor with a view of the garden is only separated by a sliding door, so the sound is quite transparent and you can see from the garden, so it may not be suitable for those who value privacy. The bath is large enough for two couples to take a bath, and you can also use the bath in a normal home for private use. There are also rooms with just a shower, and a drum-type washing machine, so it's convenient for long-term trips. It's worth experiencing an old townhouse from the Edo period, but it's worth it if you're prepared for the poor soundproofing, which can be heard just by opening and closing the sliding doors, problems with noise from other guests, and very little privacy. I think it's an inn with a You can experience what the old home was like!

Nice atmosphere of the old building. However, the water area had been thoroughly renovated and had a clean feel. Personally, I like lots of books and space. I think it's a great hotel with all the necessary services.

I used it for work.We used to run a lodging business in a 300-year-old private house, so we understand the hardships involved.I was very satisfied with the accommodation, where every detail was taken care of.

It was a stay without meals.Amenities are minimal, just toothbrushes and face towels. Bath towels and yukata are available for a fee.I felt that there was only one shower and one bath compared to the number of rooms. In the summer, just a shower is fine, but... The bathroom facilities are new and clean. However, there was only one shared hair dryer, and I found it very dirty. The room was built like an attic on the second floor, so there was a beam on the ceiling just above the futon, but unfortunately it was also full of dust and not well cleaned.
