It's cheap compared to the market price of Kyoto as a whole, and it's in a great location where it's fun to take a walk at night. I think it is suitable for people who are mainly sightseeing and only want to stay at a hotel.

It smelled so bad I could smell poop as soon as I entered the room.I went there on a school trip, and the rice was crispy, and the miso soup for breakfast was a wartime-style soup with only wheat gluten. Everything looked like frozen food. There were hairballs, dust, fingernails, and pills that looked like drugs in the room, and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned. In the middle of the night, I was concerned about the sound of water and the sound of a baby crying even though it was supposed to be a private room.I was an idiot for expecting so much after looking at the photo.By the way, the room is Sunshine Building 401-402.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kyto Travellers Inn from July 20-22, and it was an amazing experience! The western-style room I booked was compact but perfect for my needs, complete with a private bathroom, clean amenities, and thoughtful touches like toiletries and a water kettle for tea. Parts of the hotel is adorned with beautiful murals of Chrysanthemum flowers. Plus, the affordability of the inn allowed me to allocate more of my budget for food and souvenirs! The location is unbeatable—just a short stroll to Heian Shrine and the impressive Torii (Big Gate). I was surrounded by charming shops and delicious restaurants along Nome Street. The AC in the room provided a much-needed respite from the summer heat, making my stay very comfortable.I initially missed out on the Japanese breakfast on my first morning and opted for a nearby coffee shop instead. However, I enjoyed the delightful Japanese-style breakfast on my second morning, featuring an array of small, delicious dishes—definitely a highlight!During my stay, I discovered a nearby specialty sword shop that had a stunning collection of real samurai swords from hundreds of years ago. I couldn’t resist purchasing a practice Iliado sword, which is now a cherished souvenir. I also purchased a hand made kitchen knife made by a master knife maker at a shop that only sell kitchen knives. Ask the hotel staff as to where to go. I forgot the name of the shop. The inn is conveniently close to public bus stops and subway stations, making it easy to explore other tourist attractions. I was fortunate to be there during the Mitarashi-sai (hand washing festival) at the Shimogamo Shrine and the Gion Festival. The friendly staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful, sharing information about the festivals and even guiding us to the festivities.Overall, Kyto Travellers Inn is a gem in Kyoto, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the local culture while enjoying a comfortable and affordable stay! You will not disappoint!

I stayed here for both the first and second semesters of my university entrance exams 24 years ago. I had a chance to research Kyoto for work, and when I remembered, I also looked into Travelers Inn, and found out that it is still open. I'm sure there have been various difficulties such as the Lehman Shock and the coronavirus pandemic, but I'm very impressed.I was a high school student at the time, but everyone at the hotel was kind to me, and thanks to them I was able to get into the school of my choice. Due to work and family commitments, I don't have many opportunities to go to Kyoto, but if I have the chance someday, I would like to stay there again. I wish you continued prosperity. It's been 24 years, but I'm glad I was able to express my gratitude.

I'm currently staying in a Japanese-style room on the third floor.I made a reservation, but I couldn't get it.Well, I don't know which one is worse. The room is worse than thatThere are some stains on the tatami and the closet has no door and is blind.Air conditioner doesn't work and it's quite noisyThe futon is thick and it's summer, but I can't do it.The unit bath is extremely small. The two old men at the reception are friendly and kind.Other than that, it's the worstSome sports club group is really noisy.
