Super homey and convenient location directly across from a station and walkable to many great places in Kyoto. The views of the river are stunning and the hosts go above and beyond. Kitchen and rooms are well fitted with everything, laundry also. Would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!

I was in Japan for a month and visited Tucasa Vegan Cafe twice! I've never seen such pretty bibimbap before. There is no separate spicy menu, but if you request red pepper paste, they provide it separately. It was even nicer to encounter authentic Korean food in Kyoto!A meal menu, dessert, and beverage menu are available. Highly recommended☘Ah, make sure to check the opening date and time on Instagram!!! OK, it was a walking distance from Cheongsusa Temple, a nearby tourist attraction.

Premise that I have not made use of the guesthouse, but rather the cafe which is right below the hostel itself. The cafe is a tiny and cozy space where you can order vegan, sustainable and zero-waste food. I was famished from my double trip to Mt. Inari today, so I ordered the BBQ with soy meat, rice and salad, the soup of the day and the scone of the day. You will be told what the above selection of the day is and asked if you’re still ok with it, which I found a very nice gesture.I also took the seasonal drink, strawberry milk with syrup, and as I couldn’t pass the opportunity to do so, also drank a Pour Coffee.Only issue you might have here is that many people come visit and you might have to wait to be seated. There is also some time to wait while the food is freshly prepared, but I think that’s normal and a very good thing. The two owners were very nice and constantly working to prepare food, clean or answer questions, they’re friendly as well and the prices are quite ok for the portion and good flavors, everything tastes amazing. You can see in the pictures the strawberry milk, bbq bowl along seaweed soup, and the pour coffee. I didn’t get a pic of the scone because I was too hungry to think about it, but it was a nice traditional pastry flavor, probably even better enjoyed with tea.A recommended visit for sure, be mindful of how many people are there and be prepared to wait if necessary, it’s worth it!

This was the best accommodation we have had on our trip to Japan. Taka and Minni were so helpful and treated us like friends! The home itself is bright and homey with lots of plants. The cafe they run is also great!

You can enjoy sightseeing from this guesthouse. First of all, it's right after you get off the subway, so you drop your bags, get some tourist information from the owner, and head out. Walk along the Kamogawa River in front of you to Shijo. We walked around Nishiki Market, Teramachi, Gion, Yasaka Shrine, Yasui Konpira Shrine, Yasaka Pagoda, Kodaiji, Sannenzaka, Kiyomizudera, and Sanjusangendo. When I returned at night and went up to the living room on the second floor, I saw an old building that looked like something out of Spirited Away, and the night view was beautiful. The owner made takoyaki for us. They can't do it now because of the coronavirus, but before the coronavirus, they often planned social gatherings and dinner parties. I would like to participate next time.
