We spent three nights here and included the meals (breakfast) and dinner. Its in a fabulous location to experience Gion (right out the door). It's a small Japanese hotel with only 8 rooms. We had the Meogi room which is right behind the lobby desk. It sleeps three but it was just me and my husband. I think three people in there would be very hard for more than 1 night due to it's size.We loved the comfy bath robe, the great pajamas they give you to wear (we both bought some to take home) and the yukata we wore to all the meals. You don't need slippers as walking on the floor is so nice and you check your shoes at the door. Our room was not big but worked fine. We each hard fairly large suitcases and large backpacks. We don't need drawers so that was not an issue. This hotel does not have a hot spring but has an amazing bathroom and includes a wonderful wooden bathtub. If we did it over again, we would have requested they pushed our twin beds together. I thought I asked for 1 large bed but we made it work. The other thing was that three days of meals was too much. The chefs are amazing but as an American eating 6 traditional Japanese meals was very hard . At dinner we added the steak which you should definitely do if you are not a big fish eater. They give you a large variety of small dishes for each meal which is very helpfulThe staff and chefs were all excellent.

I used the meal plan. When my plane arrived late and I asked if it would be possible to change the date at short notice, they contacted me right away, and it seemed like they had a space available on a nearby date, so they happily accommodated me. Also, I had requested a cake, but even though I made a mistake, they were very accommodating and very helpful. The room I stayed in was very nice, comfortable, and had plenty of amenities. The bath had a pleasant scent of cypress. As other reviews have said, the food was excellent. Not only dinner but also breakfast was delicious. I don't usually eat breakfast, but I was surprised at how quickly I finished this breakfast😭The location is good and the service is excellent. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely use it again!

It's right next to the road where taxis run, so it's good to take a taxi to the accommodation. A short walk leads directly to major tourist attractions nearby. The location is the best. However, the size of the accommodation is really cute. The room is very cramped, but has everything you need. All alcohol (3 bottles of beer) and drinks in the refrigerator are free, which is generous. As mentioned in other reviews, the kaiseki cuisine is beautifully presented and generally suits Korean tastes. Even the dining space is small, so it feels a bit stuffy and cozy haha. However, the food is served very quickly. They make it right in the kitchen and deliver it right away, so I ate everything in about 1 hour and 15 minutes here, compared to 2 hours at other places. The breakfast menu is not much different from the dinner menu we had the previous day. The breakfast menu mixed with a few high-end dishes feels like dinner. In general, the accommodation size is small but it is okay for people who want good service, but it may be unsatisfactory for people who are looking for a spacious room or facilities rather than service. Please note that it closes at midnight, so you must return before then.

It was beautiful Ryokan-Japanese style hotel. The location was great, service was good. Only things I wanted to complain were1. There were not drawers that I can put my clothes. We stayed 3 nights, we had some clothes to put on but their drawers were full of yukata and guests couldn’t use. I think they just need to ask us our size or they can probably guess our size when they saw us. So instead of putting many yukatas that we don’t use, let guests use the drawers.2. The dining table we used was right below air conditioning and I can see dust flying all over our table when that was on which I thought not suitable for dining. But they provide some snacks and drinks in a room including beers, amenities were good, Hinoki bathtub smells good and big. So…do I recommend this hotel? Maybe yes, but I probably warn them about the things I noticed.
