Fall asleep to the tranquil sound of the Shirakawa River and experience the life of Kyoto people. The spacious one-family house should be a unique room type in Shirakawa. It only receives one group of guests at a time and the price is based on the number of guests. So it’s a good deal for two people to rent the house.

You can rent the entire wonderful townhouse that was built in 1919.Basically, you can stay without meals, but it seems that you can also request catered meals. There's a kitchen and a refrigerator, so you can feel like you're at home in the townhouse. It can accommodate up to 9 people, so it might be a good idea to spend time with several families. The Shirakawa River flows right in front of you, so you can spend your time listening to the sound of the river. The small garden in the back was also wonderful ✨

First of all, the host couple's personalities are very wonderful. I was especially touched by the cuteness and kindness of the aunt. The Japanese sweets they served were delicious, and the sekihan they served for breakfast was also really delicious. It was very quiet at night, and the futon was fluffy, so I had a good night's sleep. I would definitely go here again.

Thank you for your help every year. It's a very relaxing space. The owner is a Japanese confectionery shop, but they are very nice people and have the same Kyoto hospitality. It is also a perfect place for sightseeing.

It feels like living in Kyoto. Very convenient for walking around the Higashiyama area. The host, who runs a Japanese sweets shop next door, was also a kind and gentle person. He let me leave my car there in the morning and gave me some red rice, so I took it with me, rented a bicycle (free of charge), and strolled around the area. I enjoyed it to the fullest until the morning of the next day. The location has a great atmosphere, such as the river in front of it. (It is not a beautifully renovated townhouse inn, but a renovated ordinary private house. All cooking utensils, tableware, etc. are provided.) It is a reasonable price for two people in high season, but it is better to stay for one night rather than staying in a boring hotel. . Although it will be more expensive depending on the number of people, I think it is suitable for staying with family or several friends.

It's very relaxing and Gion is within walking distance, perfect for sightseeing in Higashiyama, and there are supermarkets and convenience stores nearby for long-term stays. I am very happy with the Japanese sweets served by the host, Mochitora.
