I stayed for two nights at Maana Kiyomizu and it was the most amazing stay we could ask for during our trip to Kyoto. The decor of the house is beautiful, it's very spacious and it has everything you would need for a short stay. The location is great, Maana Kiyomizu, is within walking distance to many tourist attractions, restaurants, coffee shops, etc so it was very easy to move around the city. I would stay again if I came back to Kyoto.

Of our entire tour of Japan, staying at Maana was what we were most excited about, and the place did not disappoint us! The warm atmosphere, its spectacular architecture and the kindness of Sherry and Sergio made our experience in Kyoto a 10/10.The rooms are impeccable, the details, the natural light, the architecture, the quality of the atmosphere, the aroma, the tea, the materials...staying at Maana is worth it 🤎

We stayed at Maana Kiyomizu for 2 nights and it was just not long enough! What a beautiful space - from the furniture, to the design and fit out - we loved every moment of our stay. A soak in the bathtub after a long day of exploring Kyoto was a dream. Sergio our host was incredibly helpful - thank you for the amazing hospitality and service! Zoe & James

Style.Renovated contemporary century old townhouse.Kyoto architects Shigenori Uoya and Takeshi IkeiSetting.Quiet little alley in HigashiyamaExplore.KyotoRoomsBoth rooms are upstairs. Next to the meditation room is the bedroom, a small space where it is difficult to latch shut the tiny window. The bathroom is downstairs & not convenient in the middle of the night. Walls are thin so in the daytime, could hear the conversations from POJ studio from the bedroom. Having said all that, I slept well here.@ the hotel.Love the quiet residential neighborhood and the downstairs minimalist living space. Entrance being on street level, felt like a home and is literally next door to other units. I was in suite 3, 60m² of airy space, super high ceilings. Part of the hotel is POJ studio (with unique craft for sale and hosts workshops), and popular Kissa Kishin cafeFood & drinks.Kissa Kishin, part of the “hotel”Prices.$629Rating.4/5Not perfect but enjoyed this unique accommodation that allowed me to live like a Kyoto local, will come back and check out suite 1 or 2 next time

What an oasis in Kyoto! Kyoto's a beautiful, historic city but bustling all seasons of the year and we were so, so thankful to come home to our suite every day. We stayed in Suite 2 at Kiyomizu and it was such a perfect little corner in a very quiet but convenient location. Beautiful design, wonderful amenities and service. We decided not to book breakfast thinking that we'd like to explore breakfast food in Kyoto but the one meal we had at Kissa Kishin made use regret that decision! Highly recommend opting for the breakfast option.
