We have just checked in and been given a tour of the room and I couldn’t wait to post. This place is beautiful. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and explained how everything will work. There is an en-suite for toilet and sink and a shared bathroom for showers and soaking tub that is booked. Time to change into a yukata for the 7-course dinner!

I recently booked a stay at this hotel, which offers an authentic Japanese inn experience, and it would be an excellent choice for those eager to immerse themselves in traditional Japanese culture. However, there are a few important aspects to consider before booking.Firstly, the hotel has specific periods for bathing and showering, which must be booked in advance, as there is only three baths available for guests. Additionally, there is a curfew after 11 pm, which may not suit all travelers.Unfortunately, I wasn’t informed of these restrictions by my booking agent, and as someone who is not accustomed to such rules, I found it challenging to adapt. As a result, I had to check out before the first night of my stay.If you’re looking for a more flexible accommodation, this might not be the best fit. However, for those who appreciate and are prepared for a traditional Japanese inn experience, this hotel could be an ideal choice.

Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the second we walked in the door until we left we were treated with such care and respect. The building is absolutely beautiful and the staff makes it even better. We did the dinner and breakfast and I cant recommend it enough. The chef was incredible and the meal was one I will remember for the rest of my life. This was a short stay on our 2 week honeymoon in Japan and my only regret is not staying another few days. Thank you all for everything!

If I could give 10 stars, I would! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I can't recommend this ryoken enough! This was the best place we stayed in ALL of Japan. It was an authentic and personal expirience that we won't ever forget. This building was built in 1839 and has been updated but kept as original as possible. The rooms were incredibly comfortable and authentic. We stayed on the first floor and had a private sitting room, tatami mat sleeping area, private bathroom and eating space. Breakfast is served in the room and was one of our favorite parts of the stay. The dinner we took part in was incredibly special. The owner (7th generation family owner) was the main chef that personally prepares and serves the meal to you and the 4 other guests. Everything prepared was very thoroughly thoughtout and perfectly prepared. Every dinner is different and papered based on the markets best daily ingredients hand picked by the chef.If you are looking for an intimate, personal, and authentic Japanese ryoken expirience, this is the BEST CHOICE you could make.
