Located in the center of Akankohan town, this hotel also overlooks the shores of Lake Akan, which you can enjoy a splendid view of, both from the reception hall and from the individual rooms. …

The hotel is old and that’s it basically.Everything smells old and looks old and if it’s been refurbished then It doesn’t look like it.Dinner and breakfast is ok and nothing more. The room smells and the AC works badly. The location is good only because it’s lake-adjacent.Would not recommend staying here.

still annoyed by by stay in this hotel. let's start with the good things: the location is more than okay ( but pity they ruin their view on the lake by putting a parking in between!), large, but dated rooms. de onsen is okay, but again: what's the point of sitting with beautiful scenery and putting brick walls around?).the worst things? breakfast is really awfull school kitchen like, not tastfull, unpleasant kanteen, the worst we had in 24 days Japan. the price on the other hand was the highest we payed in 3,5 weeks Japan: 200€/night! when i found out booking this place via booking.com would cost me 148€/night (same moment) I fet betrayed, since they have to give a high fee at booking.com on top. but the front staff wouldn't do a gesture.so: if you want to go: book via booking.com and not pay at the desk. but i suppose you can find much better places than this one?

Great location, practically on the lake, short walking distance from the main attractions.|The traditional dinner was OK, but the breakfast was quite below average even for the traditional Japanese food lovers. …

An onsen hotel that seems frozen in time. However, the amenities still work well. We checked in around 10pm and someone rushed out to guide us to the lakeside parking (kerbside available too, but it's a bit steep). Another staff helped me with the luggage. Check-in was fuss-free. Rooms come with a proper refrigerator, kettle, hair dryer, tea set, etc. There's a bathroom, but during our whole stay we just used the public bath at B1. For the onsen, bring the yellow big and small towels down using the plastic carrier. Also bring the plastic clips to mark your slippers. The onsen has 3 pools - 40 degrees, 42 degrees, and outdoor. I suspect the outdoor is also 42 degrees, and as expected the bottom is slimy. You can dump the used small towel in the changing room. In the morning, they will drop a new set of yukata, towels, and toothbrush outside your door. Take note that check out time is 10am.

The employee lacked the necessary interpersonal skills to provide a welcoming and hospitable environment. When we arrived at the front door, the employee only ordered us to drive to the parking lot without offering any help with unloading the baggage.

Bathroom size is for dwarfs. Shower is just designed for sustainability as it gives less water than you can produce.

The hotel is beside Lake Akan. We reached there at night and had to park at the beach behind the hotel which was quite dark. I've booked a Japanese-style room. Although it's a bit run-down, the room is spacious and clean. …

This hotel left me torn. The personnel is adorable and so nice! We arrived late, 10PM, and the employee came out to greet us and take our luggage inside. He made us feel so welcomed. They also gave us some Bread for the way after we checked out. It moved my heart the care they put into their customers. The rooms themselves are old, but that is to be expected for a hotel that was probably built when tourism boomed in the area in the 1950s.However, upon entering the room I discovered a spider hanging from the ceiling and the next day a cockroach made its way into my clothes on the table! The breakfast was typical Japanese. It was okay I would say.I hope we can see this hotel go through some renovations.
