Fubokaku is a charm. The ryokan itself is rustic and doesn’t gloss over the fact that it’s an old Ryokan with a rich history. The rooms are simple, but the baths are amazing. Equally impressive is the food. The individual baths are all unique, and I encourage all visitors to try each bath. Some reviews mentioned that the stairs are difficult to climb, but I don’t think it’s a big issue. Just dress warm in the winter, and you’ll be just fine.I look forward to visiting Fubokaku again.

Our room overlooked the pond with the soothing sound of running water, which set the scene of your tranquil stay surrounded by birds singing and the sound of frogs. …

Wonderful Ryokan with fantastic onsen and a long history! There is the room where the lord of Sendai, Date Masamune, used to stop during his trip here in Aone! Absolutely recomended!

An inn located at the Aone Onsen ♨️ of the Japan Hidden Hot Springs Association at the foot of Zao.I was surprised at the length of the stairs leading up to the room, but it was a very relaxing room with a view of the bamboo forest. There are 6 baths, 3 private baths, and the quality of the spring water is good.Meals are served in a private room, with deep flavors that make you want to check every time you bring them to your mouth, making you feel like each item was carefully prepared. It was a guaranteed repeat stay that you would definitely want to visit on special occasions.

Although there were several groups staying overnight, we were able to tour the private hot springs fairly smoothly. (Every place had a different quality and was great...Due to the structure of the inn, the stairs leading to and from the guest rooms are not gentle and are a little long, so elderly people may get tired just walking around. Is there a hall near the reception? Rest area? It was great to brew the provided instant coffee and take a breather after taking a bath. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. It was the best inn I've ever been to. You can enjoy your meal slowly in a semi-private room separated by sliding doors.Anyway, everything was great.I would love to go again.

The landlady is unfriendly and the facility is old and run down like a haunted house.Perhaps because the occupancy rate is low, there is a strong musty odor, reminiscent of an empty house. It's fine for a day trip to the hot springs, but unless you're a fan of run-down accommodations, it's not worth the nearly 20,000 yen accommodation fee.Is Sakura's post highly rated?

I learned about this inn from JR East's "Let's Go Tohoku" commercial. It was very nice, with buildings that give you a sense of history and hot springs that have been around since the Edo period. The rice was delicious too☺️

I stayed here in mid-April 2024. I had very good memories. The hot springs are especially great. The Kurayu bath is romantic and has a private feel, the large bathhouse is spacious and has a sense of history, the new bathhouse is beautiful and gorgeous because it was just built, and the Inosuke bathhouse is small and has a private feel that makes you feel like a study, prison, or tea room. Each one had its own personality and they were all wonderful. I thought that perhaps most of the profits were invested in the bath. Of all the indoor baths I've been to, it's the most elegant. The building is old and dilapidated. The food was delicious and the waiter was kind. When I stayed there, it wasn't very crowded and I was able to enjoy the feeling of being in a hidden hot spring.
