My husband and I used it during the May holidays. I was able to upgrade my room and stay in a wonderful room. There are also two baths and a sauna where you can relax. I was satisfied with the quality of both dinner and breakfast, and the Yamagata beef for dinner was also delicious (breakfast was a buffet). The service from all the staff was excellent and it was a very nice stay. Recommended.

Although it was a little early for the autumn leaves season, I was able to fully enjoy Zao's autumn. The hotel was just a few minutes walk from the ropeway, and we arrived at the summit station in no time, and in about 40 minutes each way, we were able to see the long-awaited Okama. After descending the mountain, we walked straight to the large open-air bath, which we reserved almost exclusively as it was a weekday. The room is a spacious Japanese-style deluxe twin room.I was able to use the hotel's bath and amenities comfortably. For dinner, we had the ``Zao Yamakaizen'' beautifully arranged Yamagata delicacies that were fun and delicious, and the imoni and shabu-shabu made with Yamagata beef were especially exquisite.I usually prefer bread for breakfast, but the freshly cooked Tsuyahime I had for dinner was so delicious that I had no hesitation in choosing rice.Above all, the staff's attentiveness made this trip a wonderful memory. It was very convenient to use the shuttle bus to and from Yamagata Station, but I was pretty scared because the transfer from arriving at Yamagata Station to the Senzan Line heading to Yamadera was only 2 minutes. Please reconsider for a wonderful trip to Yamagata!

1. The room is huge! Although it is a bit old, it is well maintained and clean. Unfortunately, the air conditioner is a central air conditioner. It cannot switch the temperature and can only adjust the air volume. The hotel wifi is very slow 😂2. There are free popsicles and coffee in the lobby3. The outdoor hot spring pool has beautiful scenery👍🏻4. Although the hotel lobby staff are not good at English, they still work hard to communicate5. I don’t understand the Japanese timing of dinner.6. Breakfast is delicious. There is Yamagata beef soup and curry. There is more meat than soup so you won’t be afraid of eating it.
