We stayed in this hotel one night before the festival started. The location is very convenient, 10 minute walk from the train station, and a few minute walk from the shopping area where the festival takes place. …

The location is near the JR station. And it is near the Main Street and easy to grab food. It offers noodles and ice pop in special session which is nice. The room, air conditioning and WiFi connection are good too.

Good location, service and surprise from the hotel. They provide free noodles in the night time, welcome gifts like a free bottle of water and a jelly, also an ice pop after onsen.

The hotel was nice and parking was cool. The room was a good size and beds were decent. The onsen were very nice, it tough that tattoos are a problem (I understand the culture difference and respect it). My problem is the cleanliness of the room. There were large dust bunnies and dirty socks (Not Ours) under the bed and behind the curtains. The toilet also needed a good wipe down. The pillows were firm pillows which was nice and the AC was impeccable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Probably will go back but will definitely be asking them to clean in if its that way again.

Very good location with a great variety of restaurants nearby and close to the Sendai train station. The onsens are spacious and tidy, midnight ramen noodles are the bonus for guests and free ice cream too.

I have stayed at quite a few Dormy Inns, but this is my favourite so far. My room was quite big by solo traveller standards - it had 2 double beds and a couple would have been happy in this room - I think there are a few of these on each …

Key point: if you like to fall asleep in the dark, bring a blindfold just in case. Some of the rooms have a ceiling night light will stay on for half an hour and can't be turned off.Update: The Dormy management tells me that they are in the process of getting those lights replaced, and it's in just a handful of Dormy locations, but looks like that transition is still in process here.We really like the dormy inn concept, especially the bath 大浴場 so that's why we stayed here. Also we like breakfast, in part because it's tough to find breakfast otherwise .The bath was great. A really nice indoor and outdoor setup, clean and in good condition. The breakfast was just okay. If you like bread I guess there was a variety of that, including croissants. They also did have scrambled egg which is important to me. The thing that was missing was fish. It seems to me that every breakfast buffet in Japan should have fish. The closest in this one was clams in the miso which were good. But the fish was a missing element. They did have good fruits including pineapples and watermelon.I saw at least one review that questions the area where the hotel is but it is a wonderful and vibrant area. Noise was not a problem at all.So at this point we are at a four-star. The reason the review is for a three-star is that the ceiling light in the room has a terrible feature. When you turn off the light, there is a blue night light which stays on for half an hour. It cannot be turned off until it automatically shuts itself off. So if you are like me and you like to sleep in the dark, you would hopefully have a blindfold of some kind.I come across this once in a while, hotels that don't understand that their number one purpose is to provide a quiet, dark, safe place to sleep. After that, everything is extra. I wouldn't stay here again because they messed up the "dark" part of the equation. For me this is unacceptable.I reached out to hotel Management through email and they told me that they have gotten some feedback before on this and they are in the process of changing out those lights. I don't have a time frame on this but the problem has been recognized and they are working on fixing it.

Clean, quiet (as quiet as you can get on a busy street), relatively cozy. A LOT of complimentary offerings with very affordable room pricing. Location isn't bad either. I'd call this a lot of bang for my buck!
