The good thing is that it's a single room and you have plenty of privacy. The bad thing is that it feels too much like a daily life...I don't feel anything like a hotel trying to provide hospitality.

I will never stay there again. The reason is,・While I was out, the store owner entered my room without permission.・All the outlets in the toilet and 1F refrigerator have been unplugged and cannot be used right away (think of the fear you felt when you defecated in the toilet and the water wouldn't flush).・The accommodation description on the reservation site is unreliable (credit cards cannot be used, wifi is unknown)If you think cheaper is better and hotels are just for sleeping, I recommend camping in a park rather than here.

The facility is worst. There is no wifi, no hot water, just little bit tissue. Only one shower room for all guests. No bath.Thin wall, So you can hear the sound of every room inside the hotel. 👎If you open the window there is graveyard beside the building. And we can’t lock the windows. What a worst night! Not recommended! 👎👎

Horrible experience. When I got there, there was public hair on the sink and on the shower floor. Not sure why they couldn't clean that up. The towel they provided me was the size of face towel and really thin material. Not sure why they expected me to dry myself with a face towel. When I got there, the shampoo and body soap were pretty much already empty (3 washes max, I was there for 5 nights). When I asked for a bigger towel and to refill shampoo and soap, they hesitated, and when they did it was very very minimal also, it still was not enough for the remaining of my stay. They did not refill the toilet paper once even when it finished. I had to source my own toilet paper. They kept coming into my room for "cleaning" but there was nothing cleaned? And i wasnt allowed inside the room while they were doing this. Rubbish bins were still full and nothing was refilled. All they did when they came into my room for "cleaning" was open my windows even though it was cold outside. Not sure what they were actually cleaning? And they would keep unplugging the mini fridge even though I had drinks inside it. Not sure why they provide a mini fridge if they keep unplugging it? There was no WiFi and no hair dryer. The hot water wasn't hot enough. Also, they turn off hot water and heating and do not turn this back on until 3pm. I was not aware of this. It was pouring raining and freezing cold, so I thought I'll come into the hotel. But no, they turned off all the heating for the room and hot water and got upset with me when I asked if I can use the hot water and Heater as I was freezing cold. Also from the room you can hear a lot of noises with footsteps and taking. Bed was very uncomfortable and the tissue they provided me felt like sand paper to the nose. I guess they couldnt afford soft tissues. Anyway, I highly recommend not booking this hotel, you'll have a terrible experience.

They canceled my room the same day. I received a notification on my phone and a refund and that's it. To find something the same day in the same price bracket is impossible. 👎

The low ratings you find online don't do this place justice. My room was clean, warm, nicely located (within walking distance to the train station, kiyomizu-dera temple and many many restaurants and convenient stores) and spacious. May not really be a 5 star establishment but it does the trick just perfectly.

We recommend that you carefully look at the prices and compare them with others before deciding whether or not to stay. The Kawaramachi area is dotted with chain hotels and hotels that provide meals in the same price range.A privately run inn located behind Kawaramachi.Previously, it was a member facility of OYO Tabist. No meals will be provided. This is a ryokan where you can stay overnight without meals.Japanese-style rooms other than twin rooms do not have toilets. The twin room has a toilet and shower room. The bath listed is actually located at the back of the first floor, but you must declare that you wish to take a bath.(It is not a bath attached to the room, but a private bath for the guest who declares it.)Therefore, if you would like to take a bath, please tell your host and have them prepare it for you.The lights in the facility are always turned off and it is dark. The stairs are also steep. The restaurant is run by a husband and wife, so depending on the timing, you may have to wait.Even if you call to inquire, you may not be able to get through. There are 3 convenience stores nearby, a 24-hour supermarket, and many restaurants nearby, as well as a bakery and a fruit and vegetable store in the back streets. The surrounding environment is blessed, so you won't have to worry about finding food or daily necessities. .You might think of it as a guest house where you can sleep in a private room. For those who are used to traveling, this is a ryokan where you can stay overnight without meals and as a base where you can do your own thing. If you look carefully at the price per night and stay here several times (become a regular customer), you can definitely get some flexibility even if you book directly without going through a reservation site. It's a fact.I have stayed for a long time several times during Goto Travel, so I am giving it 3 stars because I know the inside story. However, I can understand why, at first glance, people staying here for the first time may get the impression that other people have also written about it.However, I think it is necessary to consider that the inn is a privately run inn that has been in operation for a long time, and that we strive every day to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If that is not possible, I think you should choose a standardized chain hotel.
