TL;DR: Hotel staff is lazy and incompetent. If you have trouble getting a receipt, politely reach out to the parent company (Tsukaki) and they make sure it will be fixed. On check-in, there was nobody at the reception, even though I arrived within the check-in window. The bell to call someone didn't work either. Then, I got a room on the 3rd floor with shared bathroom. The bathroom was on the 2nd floor, though. Taking the elevator at night to go to the bathroom is honestly a bit inconvenient, to put mildly. At check-out, there was nobody at the reception, event though I checked out within the right window. The bell to call someone still wasn't fixed. I had to return a bit later to finally speak to someone and ask for a receipt / proof of payment. They gave me a slip of paper with my name spelled incorrectly, the amount of money paid without the ¥ symbol, no stamp, no signature, and nothing on the paper could indicate the dates of my stay, the address of the hotel, or the person who wrote it. I could've written it myself. When this receipt was refused by my employer, I had to ask the hotel for a receipt that included the right information. They responded as if I asked them for pigs to fly, wanted to send a receipt for only 85% of the amount I paid, insulted my employer by calling them "weird" for needing a receipt, suggested that my employer should "pay a visit to make sure that you are telling them the truth that you indeed had stayed at our hotel", and then suggested I first send back the receipt I had because of their local tax problems. All I'm asking, is for a complete and legally valid receipt proving that I paid the hotel....Edited to add:In the end the hotel stopped responding to my messages. We managed to find the parent company of this hotel, Tsukaki group. After having a Japanese person call this company and explain the above situation, their representative profusely apologised and managed to get through to the hotel and get my receipt within a couple of hours.Nothing but praise for the parent company!

There is no way to get through the emergency contact number at all. There are mosquitoes in the room and a stuffy smell in the laundry room. There is no toothbrush and towels need to be rented for 500 yen.It doesn’t have what it should have. It’s not worth the price.

Stayed here in May as every other place was fully booked, which in retrospect was a good thing because this place EXCEEDED my expectations!! It's super clean, a walking distance to the main shopping area/ tourist attractions. The owner & his staff are incredibly friendly, they recommended many activities & sites. The dorms are really nice, the bunkbed pods are huge, with power outlets + a little table and stool to sit on. Plenty of showers, never had to wait and super clean. Cheap self service clothes washing + drying facilities and nice cafe downstairs with some food and drink options during the day.

Great spot, my partner and I had a double room, it had everything you need. Place was super clean.Bike rental on site which allowed us to cover big distances all over the city in one day.Great location, even without the bicycles everything we needed was within walking distance, including a fantastic coffee shop less than 2 mins away.Staff were kind and attentive with a lovely welcome including sweets.
