Check-in and check-out was very easy! The staff was very polite and considerate, and I felt comfortable using the hotel. The townhouse itself had no waste, and the interior was very stylish and a wonderful space! Although it was a day use, I was able to spend a very fulfilling time in a calming space! I would like to use it again, including other locations!

On a recent trip to Kyoto, I first considered booking a hotel room. However, the more I learned about Kyoto, the more I abandoned the idea of staying in a hotel. Instead, I opted for a Machiya house. Akebono, a home on offer from Machiya Residence Inn, was the perfect mix of traditional Japanese accommodation and modern luxury.Upon entering the home, I felt a great sense of warmth and knew that I had made the right decision for my accommodation.Everything in the home was a delight. Richly colored accents and detailed architectural features immediately peaked my interest. The bathroom was luxurious and the western beds were more than comfortable. Honestly, I didn’t want to leave the home. But an experience at Akebono isn’t just about the sleek construction or the tranquil feel found in the nearby streets. The details are what make this place so special. From the custom coffee to the lavish soaps, the welcome letter to the provided pajamas, the amenities were just as impressive as the design of the house.I highly recommend Akebono and the Machiya Residence Inn. Can’t wait for another visit.

It was the best! The room was spacious and well-cleaned. I was able to soak in the bath slowly, and the bedding was very comfortable, so I didn't feel tired from the trip the next day. It was really beautiful and I had a comfortable stay. The room was wonderful, and I was very happy with the attentiveness of the staff. I would definitely stay there again.

The reception at the front desk, the customer service, the room, everything was excellent. The front desk staff was wonderful, politely telling us how to get to the townhouse, and storing our luggage for us. The townhouse house was also very spacious and it was a waste for two people to stay there. It was easy to access and the room was very clean. Recommended for spending a relaxing time with your loved ones.

Upon arriving at the house, I liked the area the home was in. Very quiet and not on a main road. Inside the house, everything was extremely clean and organized. The living room was beautiful and the garden was beautiful and added a calming and tranquil ambiance to the experience. When I went upstairs to the bedrooms, I was impressed with how nice they were. Sleeping in these beds gave me better sleep than my own bed, which is surprising. The beds were extremely comfortable and they smelt very clean.I really loved the bathrooms as well. Beautifully decorated. The house had everything you would need. Fridge, washer, dryer, and dishes. I’ve stayed in many hotels and this surpassed my expectations. If you’re looking for a beautiful home for a traditional Japanese experience, this place is for you. Good for you and friends, family or your spouse! Definitely recommend.

Check-in was a breeze! Easy instructions were sent to my e-mail to access the house. It has a traditinal Japanese vibe with a mix of modern design. It is quite spacious its good for family with kids. It is very nice and homey. They provide stove, water heater, cutleries, fridge, IH cooker, washing machine and a microwave. It is also a few steps from the bus station and from the Toji temple. We really loved out stay at this house.

A stylish Kyomachiya located right next to Toji Temple, between quiet residential buildings. The other townhouse I stayed in the day before had so much draft that I froze, but I was impressed to find that the room was warm when I arrived...It was well-cleaned, clean, and comfortable. There is an air conditioner in each room, so I didn't even use it, but there were heaters in both the bedroom and the bathroom, and I was impressed by the attention to detail. There is also detergent next to the washing machine, and there are ground coffee beans in the kitchen instead of instant ones...! I heard that it was specially blended. It was a wonderful townhouse where you could feel the attention to detail in every corner. I would like to stay again.
