I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent checkout experience I had at your hotel on October 17, 2024. We booked an upgraded Superior Double room from October 14 to 17. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a negative encounter with one of your staff members, Yukitoshi.Despite my understanding of a slight delay in checkout, Yukitoshi displayed an unprofessional and hostile attitude, demanding late checkout fees. I had already called the front desk at 9:45 AM to inquire about the possibility of a later checkout time and had received verbal confirmation to be eligible till 10:20 AM. As we came downstairs at 10:30 AM and attempted to inquire for any wiggle room, I received zero explanations and an unwillingness to listen from the staff. The lack of willingness to listen from Yukitoshi created a frustrating and bitter experience for customers.I believe Yukitoshi's behavior was unacceptable and reflected a lack of customer service skills. I explained to Kushima, a helpful staff who can speak English, that all Yukitoshi did during this baffling experience was shouting the word “policy” and spoke a bunch of Japanese to a foreigner. I am a tourist who does not speak Japanese and this was communicated multiple times. Considering many of your guests are likely non-Japanese speakers, your front desk staff must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with guests from diverse backgrounds. When I requested to receive the staff's name, Yukitoshi threw her name tag on the table in anger. This staff’s horrendous attitude, lack of language skills, unwillingness to listen and non-existent professionalism are not fit for the job at the front desk.I hope the hotel will investigate this incident and take appropriate measures to ensure such negative experiences don't occur again. I will be posting this review on Expedia and Tripadvsior in hopes that more professional development will be implemented at this establishment.

This is a new hotel. I passed by it when it was under construction, and it was bigger than I expected! It was great in terms of location.

I was very lucky to successfully book the Tokyo Inn in Namba, Osaka in October. This is a rare hotel. I stayed for a total of six nights and I sincerely recommend it to travelers going to Osaka. There are many advantages here. First of all, the location is very convenient, very close to Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori. After returning to the hotel every night, I will go out and walk around Shinsaibashi. Secondly, although the room area is only 12 square meters, I was surprised to find that the sense of space was very good. I really don't understand how they did it. Third, the room is equipped with a smart TV, allowing you to easily cast content from your phone to the TV. Fourth, although I generally don’t like hotel breakfasts, although the breakfast here is not rich, at this price, it is definitely great value and very cost-effective. Moreover, the hotel is very new and clean. There are a large number of self-service lockers on the B1 floor. There are six washing machines and dryers on the first floor, so there is almost no need to wait. The clothes dryer can even select the drying time by inserting coins, so clothes can be thoroughly dried every time. In contrast, what I fear most are those dry cleaning two-in-one washing machines that cannot completely dry. There are also DHC supplies on the first floor, including makeup removal, facial cleansing, and skin care. There are ice machines and hot and cold water machines, but remember not to fill your own kettle with water, as this is unhygienic. The only small drawback is that the TV is located a bit high. My cervical spine is not very good and I often need to look up, which is a bit difficult for me.If you arrive at this hotel on any of the following modes of transport and wish to avoid the stairs, please note the following guidelines:From Osaka's subway, Kintetsu, JR or Nankai Electric Railway, first find Exit 24 of Namba Station. If you can't find the exit, you can walk along the walk underground street and you will eventually find it. When you come out, you will see a glass door. After entering, there will be a Starbucks. Then go left and you will find the escalator. After taking the elevator, you will see the Lawson convenience store, then walk straight to the right for about 30 seconds, and the hotel will be on the right. But be aware that the elevator closes at 10pm.If you don’t mind taking the stairs, you can exit from Exit B6 of Namba Station and turn left, which will take you directly to the hotel entrance.Hope this information is helpful to you!

The hotel had self check-in that is impersonal and spits out your room card. Room is clean but very small. At 10:30 am, I received a call from the front desk staff demanding that I come down and pay immediately 1000 yen for overstaying. I told him it was a mistake as I thought check-out was at 11. He yelled and said it was their policy and demanded I pay the yen before leaving. Absolute worst experience I’ve had while in Japan!
