There are some terrible things written in the reviews, but it would be strange to expect normal service for 4,400 yen including tax per night. I can be satisfied with this price. The toilet was the best (lol).

Ryokan Sumire used to be a well-known hot spring inn in Owani, but is now an overnight-only inn. Hot breakfast is available for an extra charge if you make a reservation. There are no beds, and you sleep on Futon mattresses on Tatami. Clean sheets and towels, unlimited VHS(!) movies, spacious interior, no problems for a short stay. However, the fridge should be cleaned a bit more. The hot spring is great, but the tiled floor is much older, which might bother some people though I don't mind.Credit card payment accepted. Parking is a few minutes walk away.

This was by far the worst accommodation I've ever stayed at.First of all, even though I had told them my check-in time, there was no one at the front desk, and a note said, "If you have any questions, please call us." And 15 minutes after I called, they finally came. The customer service attitude at that time was not at all apologetic for keeping the customer waiting, and seemed to be talking to them from above, which made me feel very uncomfortable even before I stayed there. Also, there were times when only water came out from the shower in the room and the shower in the public bath. I was planning to stay the next day, so I contacted them before returning to the hotel and was told that the boiler had broken due to a child's prank. Moreover, even though I had booked a two-day stay, they only provided bath towels for one day. There was really no welcoming spirit in many aspects, which was very disappointing.I will never use it again.

Breakfast is a bento box and there is no hot tea.The lobby has a strong Showa feel, and the rooms are on the 3rd floor with no elevator. The hot spring was on the first floor, and it was difficult to go to the hot spring from the room if you forgot something. The hot spring bath is shaped like an apple, but the apple doesn't float, and the washing area looks dirty. There is no tea pot in the room, and the vending machine only sells alcoholic beverages. It's inconvenient in a town that doesn't have a convenience store.Although it is the birthplace of apple hot springs, there are many regrets.

Although it is an old-fashioned inn, the facilities are solid and there is air conditioning. Some rooms have toilets.I was asked about my departure time if I was not at the front desk most of the time. The parking lot is a few dozen meters away.
