Because it is so close, it is often mistaken as the same location as the neighboring Ogawara Lakeside Campsite, but the reception and entrance are different. On the shore of Lake Ogawara, there are tent sites and cabins along the road, but this site is a little far from Lake Ogawara and is surrounded by iron fences. While there is less worry about intruders, you will not be able to directly enjoy the scenery of Lake Ogawara, so if you are particular about that, we recommend camping on the shores of Lake Ogawara or other campsites along Lake Ogawara. However, the site here is well-equipped, very clean and well-maintained.The best part is the location where you can see the sun setting over Lake Ogawara (technically speaking, it's a lake, so it sets on the other side...), and it's beautiful even though it's through the iron fence. On the other hand, at sunrise, there are mountains nearby, so even if it gets bright, you can't see the sun at all. Also, since it is along the lake, there is nothing to block the wind, so it can be difficult if the wind is strong. This can be said not only here but also at the entire campsite at Lake Ogawara...I once rented a place on the mountain side on a windy day, and there was a terrible time when the wind rustling in the trees was noisy and the wind strength didn't change much. If anything, I recommend the lake side. There are some families who appear to be American soldiers as there is a US military base nearby. However, since it is a paid campground, the manners of both foreigners and Japanese people were relatively good.Overall, I think this is a very good campsite for family camping, especially for beginners.
