I stayed here with my family of 3 in August and received very kind and warm hospitality. Hirosaki itself is a wonderful city, and tourist spots such as Hirosaki Castle are within walking distance, so the location was good. I was able to stay at a quaint inn and it was a wonderful memory. The breakfast we received was also delicious. We look forward to staying with you again when you come sightseeing.

We stayed in Ishiba Ryokan for two nights during our three-week trip in Japan. Our stay was very comfortable, the owners truly got out of their way to make our visit to Hirosaki unforgettable (they drove us around town to show some nice dinner options, for instance). Our room was bright and spacious (it had a separate sitting area looking out over the beautiful garden) and as we were the only guests we had the bathroom to ourselves (our room had a private bath as well, but we only used the public bath). The building is quite old and sports some lovely authentic details. It's really very beautiful. Highly recommended accommodation!

During the Hirosaki Neputa festival, I stayed at Ishiba Ryokan, which is designated as a registered tangible cultural property. The building is said to date from the mid-Edo period, and is very tasteful, giving you a sense of Japanese culture. The inn is in a very good location, close to Hirosaki Castle, and the accommodation fee was very reasonable during the Neputa period! This is a recommended inn as it is close to the Neputa festival venue. It's an old-fashioned wooden building, so the hallways and bathrooms were hot in the summer. On the other hand, I think it can be cold in winter, so if you prefer a comfortable space, a hotel may be better. It's a bit of a maze, as it has some steep stairs and has been repeatedly renovated and expanded, but it's a wonderful building and I had a valuable experience!

The perfect place to stay when visiting Hirosaki. The Ryokan is beautiful, there is so much history to the building. It feels like you're transported back in time (in a good way). Breakfast was wonderful, very local and fresh food. The staff in the ryokan were always kind and respectful. The baths are nice and warm and super spacious. The owner is a great host. He's happy to provide recommendations and help with anything you need. He helped us find places to eat for the night, and called ahead to ensure that we'd have seats. He got us in touch with some amazing locals, with whom we had a wonderful evening out. When we left he successfully arranged our luggage transport as well. Thank you for the wonderful time and we hope to come again!

This inn, which was founded in the 12th year of Meiji, is highly recommended for travelers who want to stay in a traditional Japanese inn when visiting Hirosaki. The hotel is located next to the east gate of Hirosaki Castle. It only takes about 5 minutes to walk from the hotel to Hirosaki Castle, and it only takes about 10 minutes to reach the core tourist area in front of Outemon. The hotel is about 2 kilometers away from Hirosaki Station. There is a bus stop nearby, so it is very convenient to get there by taxi or bus.Although it is a very quaint hotel, the facilities are complete, and the public areas such as bathrooms, toilets, and wash basins are large enough, so there are basically no queues. The room is spacious enough for just one person. The owner was very enthusiastic. During dinner time, he drove me to introduce interesting izakayas nearby. After returning to the hotel, he invited me to the small bar next to the hotel for a free glass of cider. After learning that I came to Hirosaki for a tour of modern historical buildings, they chatted with me about many interesting topics and showed me some items related to historical figures collected in the museum, which taught me a lot.Since reservations can only be made by phone or email at present, travelers who are not familiar with Japanese can use English or try to use translation software to make reservations. They only need to confirm the check-in and check-out dates and whether breakfast and dinner are included.
