I slowly entered the hot spring resort with the people who live there. I would be happy if the hot springs were a little bigger.

I felt like I was living in a resort apartment, and the view was amazing.Since the balcony is so large, I thought it would be nice to have a table or chairs.I think it would be nice to wake up while looking at the sea and relax if there was a sunbed, but the apartment in front of it is a bit of a nuisance.

I visited Katsuura Hill Top Hotel & Residence on Monday, September 16, 2024. It is fully barrier-free and has a parking lot for wheelchairs. Parking is free and has 50 spaces. The customer base is mostly families and seniors, and the atmosphere is relaxed. This hotel has spacious rooms with ocean views and a kitchenette. The free-flowing hot springs are especially popular, allowing you to enjoy a resort-like atmosphere.Overall, it was a comfortable accommodation while enjoying the beautiful nature of Katsuura.

The room was also clean and good. The bath also took away the fatigue of the day. Also, the Wi-Fi in the room was completely disconnected. If they improve on that, I think it will be 5 stars.

I used it for an overnight trip in the fall without meals. This time, I decided to mainly walk around the morning market in Katsuura, and I had made a very last-minute reservation, so to be honest, this hotel was the only one available near Katsuura Station, so I didn't have any other options. When I looked at the reviews later, there were a lot of good and bad reviews, so I was a little worried...In the end, there were no major problems and I was very satisfied overall.First of all, the room is very spacious and clean. It was probably originally a resort condominium or something, with a 1LDK layout similar to a normal condominium. The bath and tray are separate, and there is also a washing machine.Although it is simple, there is a kitchen and a rather large refrigerator, so if you are on business, for example, you may be able to use it for multiple nights with simple self-catering.On this day, I stayed at a hotel on the 10th floor with a view of the ocean from the window and a natural hot spring, so overall I thought it was a very good hotel for the price. If I were to write down the bad points...The parking lot is difficult to find, and you won't know where to park unless you first get a map from the front desk.Since we arrived early, we were able to park in the parking space right behind the building, but if there were no parking spaces near the hotel, we could park in the parking lot of a former pachinko parlor building a little further away. Looks like I have to go.I was certainly concerned about the smell in the room that some people had mentioned.According to my wife, who is sensitive to smells, ``It smelled like a mixture of sea breeze, household odors, drains, mold, and probably deodorant or something.''However, after opening the windows fully and exchanging the air, I gradually got used to it and it didn't bother me anymore.Even so, the moment I returned from the public bath and entered the room, I was still concerned about the smell in the room. The room was basically clean, but there were some things that bothered me, such as the windows being dirty, the air conditioner vents being full of dust, and the washing machine having some moldy dark spots. My wife said, ``There aren't many amenities,'' so when we went out for dinner, she went to a convenience store and bought everything she needed. The next morning, I was a little surprised to find that there were no disposable razors, which most hotels seem to have. This wasn't even among the items that could be purchased at the front desk, so I gave up and spent the day with stubble.I feel like I've only written about the bad things, but considering the price, I think this is just within an acceptable range. The public bath was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bed was clean and I slept well. However, I think it is true that it is difficult to recommend it to people who are sensitive to smells. For example, I think it would make a big difference if you could rent a high-performance deodorizer like Plasmacluster or Nanoe.I have a hotel manager close to me, and I can imagine that these tourist hotels are doing their best under difficult circumstances, as we have been affected by the coronavirus and recently, due to high prices and labor shortages.Still, they are able to provide this level of service in this price range, so I hope that they will continue to do their best and improve on the areas where they have a bad reputation, little by little.

I stayed here without meals to go to the morning market in Katsuura. This building is a resort condominium turned hotel. There is a small kitchen and tableware, so you may be able to buy fresh fish from Katsuura and eat it.The room was very spacious and could be used by families with children or couples.I was too tired for dinner, so I decided to have some food delivered instead of going out into the streets of Katsuura, as the attached restaurant was already full.It was a very filling and delicious delivery from a set meal restaurant. There were also other seafood delivery options. The view was amazing! I was so excited that I even saw the sunrise lolthank you very much!

It's expensive for just staying in an apartment on a hill. It can't be helped because it was a Saturday during summer vacation.I was on the 10th floor so the view was beautiful. The rooms are spacious and you can use it like your own home. However, the bathroom in the room is that of a one-room bath. The bath and pool are not large.

Although the facility is old, it was clean and there were no problems. The large public bath on the first floor is also small, but the quality of the spring water is very satisfying. Since we prepared our own meals, it would have been helpful if the sink and stove were a little larger, but it was okay. The refrigerator is enough for 3 nights.I'm happy to be able to relax and enjoy the view of the Pacific Ocean. The morning market is also a 15 minute walk. Even the tough slopes are good exercise! You can park in an empty parking lot, so it's first come first served. Also, you can see the sunrise! As a side note, the wallpaper craftsman who did the interior work is not very good (lol). I think it would be better if the interior was renovated.
