I had a good impression of the staff who made me feel at home. |It doesn't feel like a hot spring inn. |The open-air bath attached to the room was nice. …

My husband and I stayed here for one night during the Obon period.I'm not good at summarizing things so it might be hard to read, but I'll write about the inn and its surroundings, including things to keep in mind. Another person's review said "luxury business hotel style with hot springs", and I think that's a strange thing to say. I hope this will be helpful to those who are thinking of staying during busy periods such as holidays.2 adults, rental car, dinner in Oita city・LocationThis is my first time using it for both homecoming and sightseeing. Since I'm not familiar with the area, I entered the address into the navigation system, but when I went to the navigation street, I got lost as I entered a very narrow road, so I might need to be careful. It might be a good idea to use nearby Hyotan Onsen as landmarks or check Street View in advance.·check-inAs per other reviews, you can't enter the room until 3pm.I was unfamiliar with the area and took into consideration traffic jams during the Obon period, but I arrived at the main building's parking lot around 1:00 pm and entered the building, but there was no one at the front desk and there was no call bell. It may have been the staff's lunch break. There was a sofa so I sat there and waited for about 20 minutes.I checked in and was given a map of the surrounding area, but I was told that I couldn't enter the room until 3pm, so I went to a restaurant on Ideyuzaka, which was a short walk away, to have lunch and kill some time. I did. If you are going in midsummer, you will need a parasol and a hat as there is almost no shade on Ideyu-zaka. I walked along thinking it was a view that had been featured on a certain TV show, but there weren't many tourists, probably because it was so hot.We were a couple, so it was fine, but if you are with a family, I think it would be better to adjust your time to arrive at 3pm.・Rooms and equipmentWe were looking for a room that allowed smoking and had a hot spring bath in the room, so we booked the Reiki, which was a hit. The room was right in front of the front desk. I knew when I made the reservation that I couldn't expect a view.Since we are iQOS users, we chose a room that allows smoking, but the smell of cigarettes lingering in the room may bother non-smokers, so we recommend a room that does not allow smoking. There is a large air purifier and deodorizing spray in the room. In addition, there are various facilities such as a variety of tableware, a microwave oven, a water heater, and a barista, probably because you are staying without meals. You can also watch Netflix, so if you're not particular about dinner, you might be able to bring your own food and snacks and enjoy the hot springs and spacious room while enjoying the free draft beer and hot spring eggs. There was also an ice machine in the lobby. As for noise, like most business hotels, I could hear footsteps in the middle of the night or early in the morning, but I was particularly concerned about the noise, probably because there was no room on the side of the building where we stayed. I didn't have trouble sleeping or anything like that. I used the barista in the room for the first time, but it was quite loud, so you might want to be careful when using it late at night or early in the morning. The cleaning was thorough, the toilet was modern and clean, and the room was quite spacious for two couples, so overall I think it was good.·hot springThe sodium chloride spring, also known as the ``beauty bath'', made your skin smooth and smooth. There was no facial cleansing foam, but other than that, the toiletries in the bathroom were sufficient, and there was shampoo with a very nice faint scent (Earl Grey) that I didn't know about. I think women should bring make-up remover and face wash with them. You have to adjust the temperature of the hot spring using a faucet for very hot water and a faucet for lukewarm water. I find it difficult to get it to the right temperature. I was staying on a very hot day in the middle of summer, so after arriving at the room I soaked it in lukewarm water, and the next morning I heated it up to warm up my cold body with the air conditioner in the room.・Be careful of transportation! As I wrote at the beginning, I had booked dinner in Oita city, so I took the train from the hotel to the station and headed to Oita station, but transportation is not very convenient. If you are traveling by car or rental car, it is best to travel by car unless you plan to drink alcohol. There is a bus stop right near the inn, and there are buses going to Beppu University Station and Beppu Station, which are the closest to the inn, but the frequency is very infrequent, less than once an hour, so I booked a taxi. I did. There were several taxi companies listed in the information board at the hotel, but since it was in the evening during the busy season, I finally managed to make a reservation with the 6th company. When I took a taxi from the hotel to the station, I only said "to the station," which was my mistake, but instead of the nearest "Beppu University Station," it ended up going to "Beppu Station," which cost me 2,100 yen. After dinner in Oita City, I got off the train at Beppu University Station instead of ``Beppu Station'' because judging from the map that the nearest station was ``Beppu University Station'', but I took a taxi to Beppu Station to go there. I regret it. It was an unmanned station, and there was really nothing around it! Of course there are no taxis. The map says it's straight to the inn, but it's all uphill. I thought about walking, but it was a very hot night and the temperature was still high, so I gave up. The time was past 23:00. I called many taxi companies again, and finally, one taxi came and I was saved.I don't know if you would have been able to take a taxi if you had gotten off at Beppu Station, but even if you are thinking of having dinner around Beppu Station, it is a good idea to check how you will get back. Especially during the busy seasons (Obon and New Year), (I heard from the driver) there are a lot of tourists and there are not enough taxis, so please make a reservation in advance or go to a restaurant within walking distance (there are also restaurants near the hotel). There are quite a few).・Service, staffWhen you check in, you will be given a map of nearby restaurants, and I think it is a good one (although we did not use it), as it includes coupons, information on whether smoking is allowed, and business hours.Wi-Fi is available in the room, so it's fun to do some research before leaving the hotel. However, as mentioned above, be careful about transportation! As for the staff, I had almost no contact with them due to their business style, so I had no interaction with them to the point of deciding whether something was good or bad. However, when I was checking out, I saw a staff member who happened to be there see me off to the rental car and lowered his head until he was out of sight.I had a room right in front of the front desk, and I didn't use the large private open-air bath, so I had no idea what the other floors were like, but I wish I had more time to enjoy the footbath in the rooftop observation garden. I think so.When I arrived, I couldn't imagine the interior from the exterior, and the information (photos) on the official website made me realize that there was quite a lot of information when I looked back on it after my stay. I hope it will be helpful for future users.

Although the price was reasonable for staying overnight at the hot springs, the rooms were very luxurious! We had an indoor bath and 3 private baths, so we had a relaxing time! It was great to have all you can eat and drink boiled eggs and beer.
