I visited with 9 golf friends. A cozy inn located up a narrow road. It feels homey, clean, and the price is reasonable. This was my first experience of Jigokumushi, and the vegetable-based menu made my tired stomach happy. The hot spring water was also amazing. Were there not enough types of alcohol? It might be a good idea to check if you can bring it in.

I went on a family trip and the kids seemed to have fun in the room with a loft.did. It was quiet and the customer service was good.It was comfortable to stay as it was neither too clean nor too dirty.

Not only did we have a variety of baths to choose from, but we also had the best bamboo steamer. It's hard to eat a lot of vegetables when you're traveling, but I ate as much as I could, including delicious local vegetables and soft, easy-to-eat meat. Although the room was on the second floor, there was a nice breeze that made me fall asleep by the window. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish two rice balls and a bowl of soup for breakfast, but it was so delicious that I finished it all. I would definitely like to go again.

I love the pudding here, and personally, I like it better than the famous store above! The baths are also a little expensive, but there aren't many people there, so you can relax and feel like it's a hidden gem!

The open-air bath was great! At night, only hotel guests could use it, so it was almost reserved for private use.Unfortunately, the weather was bad and I couldn't see the starry sky, but the atmosphere around me was nice and I was able to relax. The bus stop is right nearby, so it was easy to come from Beppu!Next time I would like to stay with a meal plan.

An amazing place to stay with delicious dinner and breakfast! It was beautiful and clean. We were very happy with our room as well, especially we had a gorgeous view. You can use outside hot spring all to yourself if it’s available. But during winter it’s SO cold. You have to wash yourself outside and dip into the hot spring afterwards. It’s still a great experience. Inside hot spring switches the locations for men and women every day. 1st floor was entirely outside and again it was freezing in Jan. But it’s a huge floor with many fun hot springs! 2nd floor is mostly inside.Dinner was veg, fish, and pork steamed by hot spring. Came with several different sauces. I highly recommend using Yuzu kosho since they provide the best one I’ve ever had in my life. The whole meal was quite filling for us, two girls. You get the entire thing in the picture to yourself. Breakfast was so good as well. The soup was called Dango-jiru and is famous there. It basically had noodles in miso soup. Everything was so yummy! All the staffs were extremely helpful and kind. We were a bit lost on the way to the outside hot spring, but one staff lead us there. Whenever we couldn’t finish our food they offered to pack for us. I would love to revisit this ryokan again. You wouldn’t be disappointed.
