I think this is a very good hotel for going to Happoike. I stayed there with the intention of watching the sunrise, but the Kurobishi parking lot was full. . There was also a line at the gondola ticket office. However, Mr. Shitaka was at a hotel where we could purchase gondola tickets, so we were able to purchase them without lining up, which was very helpful. Although the hotel was old, it was well-cleaned, and as everyone has written, the full course dinner was very delicious. Will definitely repeat next time.

Japanese service is out of this world. The staff here were incredible - whipping up breakfast for an army of snow fiends every morning. 3 nights in a row the entire hotel had muddy shoes because of a festival and 3 mornings we woke up to our shoes, washed, brushed, drying and they didn't charge anyone a few. Like come on you can't beat that! Place has an inbuilt onsen and sauna and a great authentic feel. Beds are comfy and rooms are TOASTY every day after hitting the mountain.Cons - it's a death march up the hill with snow gear. Bathrooms are a little small but otherwise this place is awesome

We had the most amazing experience at this hotel. Great location, super friendly and helpful staff, onsen + sauna + breakfast all included, ski lockers, and right at the base of Shirakaba 2 chair lift. You can ski right to the door! Awesome value for money, would recommend to anyone.

This hotel cannot be recommended. The room is very small and there is not even space to open your suitcase. I have never seen a bathroom this small. Someone else's socks were left under the sofa. It was a long way from the station to the hotel, and it was up a hill, making it difficult to travel with a skiboard in the snow. And for the booked BOOKING order, I was charged the same price as a 6 year old kindergartener. Upon arrival, the staff offered to change to a children's meal, but did not explain that it would be the same price or that the children's meal would be the same and tasteless every day. I don't know why I was advised to change, but I was never asked to get the difference back. On the last day, we took an additional kindergarten child with us, so we were charged the adult rate, but on the Japanese website, a 6-year-old child is charged 50% of the rate. Why does my child have to pay full price even though he is 6 years old? I ended up filing a complaint with BOOKING, which cost me the phone bill and time, but I got no response from BOOKING, and the hotel didn't answer my phone calls, nor did I get any replies to my emails. I have never encountered a hotel with such bad service in Japan! So scary! If you need to go, please be careful!A highly unrecommended hotel. The room is extremely small, with no space even to open a suitcase. I have never seen such a tiny bathroom before. There were leftover socks under the sofa from the previous guests. It was a long uphill walk from the station to the hotel, especially difficult to move around with ski boards in the snow. What's more, the booking I made on BOOKING charged the same amount for a 6-year-old child as for an adult. Upon arrival, the hotel staff recommended changing to a child menu without explaining that it would cost the same, and the child menu was the same every day and very unappetizing. Why did they recommend the change without refunding the price difference? On the last day, I brought an additional kindergarten- aged child and was still charged the adult rate, even though the Japanese website stated that a 6-year-old child is charged at 50%. I filed a complaint with BOOKING, spending my own money and a significant amount of time, but BOOKING's response was that the hotel did not answer calls or emails. I have never encountered such terrible service at a hotel in Japan! It's truly horrifying! If you still insist on going, please be careful!

Such a lovely family operated hotel right on Happo one. And ski in/out to on of the chairlifts.||Upon arrival, they have shoes for you to wear inside as no shoes allowed. Most guests left their shoes in the shelves at the entrance. …

Was the just what my adult son and I was looking for a 6 day ski trip. Ski-in ski-out lodge with an authentic japanese flavour - breakfast, onsen and traditional bathing rooms. The service from the host, hostess and crew could not be faulted, esp. when booking Izakaya restaurant. Thank you Akira!
