The overall feel of the hotel, the room bath with natural hot spring water, and the dinner and breakfast were very good. I travel domestically to various places every 2-3 months, but it was at a level that I would want to use again. However, the bread is not very tasty. It's a shame because the other dishes are of a very high standard.

I stayed in room 203 on the 2nd floor. The room space was large, but as soon as I entered the room, I found spider net on the bed lamp😌. There is a hot spring pool in the room, but I felt no privacy as I can see the cars passing by.There are less than 10 guest rooms, so no one at the counter most of the time.Around 10:30 pm, water started dripping on the bed from the air conditioner till midnight. When checking out, I reported the water leakage problem with photos to the front desk staff, but the response I got was 'Oh'. Although the location is good and service staffs for breakfast are good, its not worth of money I paid.

Stayed here in winter when it was snowing | I was assigned a corner room on the 3rd floor, right in front of Lake Suwa with a great view. …

It was my first time staying here. The service, building, rooms, food, and hot springs were all wonderful. It was more than the price. The creative dishes were especially fun and delicious. I could see that it was handmade and carefully made. It is said to be a historic hotel with a connection to the author Masashi Yokomizo. I agree. I was moved by the history of the Katakura family's contributions to the community. Thank you for your help again. thank you very much.

When it comes to traveling, I'm more of a ryokan inn type, but after staying here, I realized for the first time that hotels are nice too.The room, bathroom, food, and staff were all very nice.If I have a chance, I would like to stay there again.

This is a rare resort-style hotel in Kamisuwa Onsen, adjacent to Katakurakan and offering a panoramic view of Lake Suwa. The room is spacious with no unnecessary walls, and the open-air bath attached to the room is fed by natural hot spring water, so when you bathe, you have to paddle the hot water before entering. It warms up incredibly quickly, so I end up going in there over and over again. For dinner, we chose a seafood French course, and all of the dishes were delicious, along with craft beer and Japanese sake from a local sake brewery. 🎵 Breakfast was also a Japanese course, with overnight-dried black-throat seaweed, dashi rolls, and an assortment of seasonal ingredients. This was also very delicious.I happened to be able to watch the spring fireworks this time, so when I have such an opportunity, I always have a wonderful time.It was a hotel that I would like to visit again 🎵

The size of the room. Bed size. The food (especially the curry rice is excellent) and the staff are very friendly. A hot spring that flows directly from the source. Everything was nice and nice. I also like that there aren't many rooms. It was a snowy day, and as a girl, I was grateful for the car wash and valet services. I'll visit you again.

The hotel experience was great, from the view to the service and facility. It’s unfortunate that you can’t choose to only stay in the hotel. Because the food was terrible, to be honest it’s one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. None of the dishes was anything close to delicious, some of them were utterly terrible. And the thing that I couldn’t tolerate the most was that the food was all slightly warm when they were served. Even the plates were warmer than the food itself! The more I ate the colder I felt. The fried food was mushy, when served. The seasoning was off all the way through. I don’t know if it’s because we were treated differently because we were Japanese speaking foreigners(?) because most of the reviews complimented their food. But I wouldn’t visit again until they could separate their dinner from their over night stay plans. This shouldn’t be what to expect in a hotel with such price range.
