It was a large hotel located deep in Shirahone Onsen. The open-air bath felt nice. You can drink hot springs, but they were not delicious. There was a shuttle bus to take us to the Shirahone Onsen bus stop.

It was a decent accommodation. However, I think the Shirafune Grand Hotel where I stayed before was better. The building and room seemed old, but they were clean. It seemed to be well constructed and there was no noise.Dinner used a lot of local ingredients, and felt like a meal at a mountain inn.Was the hot spring porridge croquette the most delicious? Other than that, things like sukiyaki are normal. The butter-grilled mushrooms for breakfast were delicious. Every other side dish was elaborate and delicious. The bath has plenty of hot water flowing directly from the source. However, it's not that big compared to the number of guests, so it gets a little crowded during prime time after dinner. The spring quality is hydrogen carbonate spring (hydrogen sulfide type) that contains sulfur and seems to have various effects. It seemed to contain a lot of sulfur anyway.Unfortunately, the floor of the changing room was quite dirty in the morning, probably because there was no cleaning. In addition, there was no washing area in the private bath, and I had to give up on it because I had a child. All the staff are kind.

In late September, I stayed one night with my mother, who is in her 80s.The bath is the best. Especially the open-air bath.Unfortunately, it was raining, but we had a blissful time watching the mist rising from the mountains. The next morning, the rain became even heavier, and bathing under the provided shade was an unforgettable memory. I also like the breezeway that is a little far from the indoor bath as it has a special feel to it.The quality of the spring water is also perfect. Personally, it's number one in Japan. The cloudy water was just the right temperature, and I took a total of 5 baths.I also drank the hot springs, and the taste was addictive, like boiled eggs, and my stomach and intestines felt much better.Even after washing the clothes I wore during my trip, the pleasant smell of sulfur persists, and the memories come back every time I wear them. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious with good seasoning. It was quite a large portion, but I finished it all.The new person in charge was also very hardworking, and I had a very good impression of him.Since I mentioned that I would be staying with my mother when making the reservation, I believe they gave me the room closest to the elevator. Thank you for your concern.

A ryokan bigger than it looksIt feels like you have to take an elevator to go from the front desk to your room, public bath, etc. There are several dining venues, and while precautions are still being taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, seats are prepared comfortably. The changing rooms at hot springs are also designed to prevent infection. The women's bath in the large public bath is at the top of the stairs, and to get to the open-air bath, you have to climb another set of rock stairs, which is difficult for someone like me who hurts my knees. In the hot spring ♨️, the bathtub and tiles were white and smooth because of the dissolved calcium, and it felt good. The food was creative and delicious, with porridge and croquettes cooked in hot spring water, and local apple gratin.

I stayed here on my way back from Kamikochi.Located about 10 minutes from Kamikochi,It was just the right distance for my tired body from walking.I don't know why, but I was lucky that it had been upgraded when I arrived. We rested in a hot spring before dinner, and the kaiseki dinner was very delicious, especially the rock fish. The flesh was so fluffy that you could eat it all from head to tail. It's probably the best river fish I've ever eaten. It was so delicious. The room was clean, the futon was comfortable, and everything was perfect. The Nakai and all the staff are warm and considerate. When my daughter was wearing a large yukata, she immediately changed it to a smaller size. I was grateful.Cold water was prepared after taking a bath, and the service was pleasant.Amenities are available in 4 colors for 4 people, so you can use things like toothbrushes without making mistakes, which is a little stress-free.For breakfast, porridge and white rice are provided.I felt elegant from the morning eating homemade tofu.On the way home, I was impressed by the cute waiter who saw me off with a yellow handkerchief. It was my first time on a trip where everything was perfect. thank you very much. This is a ryokan that I would definitely like to visit again. It is recommended!

I like the atmosphere of the open-air bath (especially in the morning) the most out of all of Shirahone Onsen, but it's far from the indoor bath.In winter, it's difficult to warm up your body in the indoor bath beforehand. As with all mountain inns, the food is not unique. You can barely tell the difference between wild vegetables in the spring and mushrooms in the fall, but it can't be helped that the rest of the dishes end up being meat dishes that can be found anywhere.I think if this location was close to the sea, the food and hot springs would be top notch. But overall it's a satisfying stay.

I stayed for 2 nights starting August 10th while touring Chubu Sangaku National Park. This is a historical inn dating back to the Edo period, where His Imperial Highness Prince Takamatsu and His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince (currently His Majesty the Emperor) have stayed. The pick-up system, the guide to the room and careful explanation by the Nakai, the clean rooms and interior of the hotel, the milky white hot springs, and the beautiful kaiseki cuisine were all excellent. The young Nakai who accompanied us during meals was wonderful. It was my favorite memory of this trip. After we checked out, I was moved when the person saw us off.My wife, who has been involved in the hospitality industry for many years, has been greatly influenced by my work, and says that if she were born as a human in her next life, she would like to aim for the top position as a Nakai (Nakai).Since our children left the nest, my husband and I have been traveling as much as possible, and this inn is number one.I don't think this feeling will change in the future.I will visit again.
