Otaki Village, Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture. Although it is called Nagoya Citizen Ontake Vacation Village, it is a public inn not limited to Nagoya citizens. It is different from the national vacation village association.Located at an altitude of 1,500 meters, at the 4th and a half of Mitake. After climbing 10km, you will reach Tanohara Natural Park (2100m above sea level). There are Japanese-style rooms and Western-style rooms, with half facing Mitake and half facing the Central Alps. Please provide your own futon and toothbrush. Wi-Fi compatible, TV available only on terrestrial TV. Please note that some rooms do not have a toilet (although they do have a washbasin).Dinner includes a choice of courses, starting at 6pm. Breakfast is a Japanese set meal, starting at 7am. The restaurant is on the first floor, overlooking the front lawn and east side. The bathhouse is wakashiyu, not a hot spring, and is open until 10pm. The water temperature is displayed as 42℃. No open-air bath, no sauna. The public bath is on the second floor and has no windows with a view. There is a day-trip hot spring nearby, Ontake Kogen Onsen Komorebi-no-Yu, which offers discounts to overnight guests. Cold mineral spring containing carbon dioxide, iron(II), calcium, magnesium, and hydrogen carbonate (hypotonic neutral cold mineral spring). There is an astronomical museum. There is a walking course. There are plans that combine experience centers (soba, Gohei mochi, woodworking), hiking, and sightseeing in the surrounding area. There are shops, but convenience stores and other convenience stores are located all the way down to Route 19.

I used it for touring to see the autumn leaves of Mt. Ontake. It was easy to understand that the price was reasonable, such as simplified amenities and self-service futons. I also appreciated the free transportation to and from the hot springs.I would like to use it with my family next time.

Ontake Children's Village is a camp that I cannot recommend. In order to earn credits for a teaching license, we train volunteer university students and entrust them with the management. Adults (people from the vacation village) will not be on site. The situation is such that it cannot be said that there is a veteran supervisor.A person with experience camping and working with children was always in charge, and the university students left their children there thinking they were providing support, but that was not the case. The system is run in such a way that injuries can't be helped, and they do happen.I'm writing this here so that no one else has to go through the same pain as me.

Not only is the accommodation fee cheap, but a one-day lift ticket costs 2,000 yen. It takes about 10 minutes to reach Mitake Ski Resort on a snowy road.
