A quiet inn away from the hustle and bustle of Hakuba. There is a hearth in the common space where you can relax and soothe.Breakfast was delicious. The communal bath seems to use either cold spring water or heated well water. It has a slight scent and is soothing. It also warms your body. There is a waiting list for the bath, so you may want to take a bath elsewhere. In winter, there is a kotatsu in the room.

If you've got a car, do yourself a favour and have a real Japanese experience and stay here. Great value, and Japanese hospitality at it's best! Family owned for 200 years, this 350 year old house is an awesome stay while you're in Hakuba. The bathrooms have been renovated recently so they're pretty nice. Rooms are traditional. Highly recommended. You'd need snow tyres to get here in the winter, and 4wd too if it's snowing heavy

The parking lot is about 20 meters east of the square, where there are washing machines and drying racks. We will park in order from the back.I was afraid that there would be an inn in such a place deep in the mountains, but I found the inn at the end of the side road. You will be guided after entering the accommodation. What is special is that you will be given a tag with the room name written on it, and when you take a bath, you hang it next to the bath entrance. To the right of that, the name tag of the room you want to enter next can be hung, and if it is hung, the person who gets out of the bath will go to the next room and tell them that it is vacant. Also, be sure to separate your plastic bottles (separate them into bottles, lids, and packaging). The bathroom has 4 washing areas and a shower, and the bathtub is quite large.Although it is quite an old private house, the rooms, toilets, baths, etc. have been renovated and are very clean. There is one shared refrigerator in the hallway. There is WiFi, but cell phone reception is out of range, so if you have people you want to contact during your stay, it would be best to let them know that you can only make LINE calls, etc.Microwave ovens can be rented. The room has air conditioning and a TV.Next time I would like to stay with meals included.

The host family was warm and welcoming in every circumstances. The traditional Japanese food was full of tasty flavour and it was a surprise every day. The room big enough for a family of four, had tatami floors and futon beds. The bathroom with the hot bath was the cherry on top after a long winter day enjoying the snow.
