Stayed for 5 nights in Feb 2024. Amazing experience, the hosts Koji and Chikako were incredible. They were extremely welcoming and both spoke great English. Always accommodating and Koji would drop/pick us up from any destination we wished be it a specific mountain in the morning or a bar/restaurant in the evening, no request was too much. Shikago’s breakfasts were also delicious! The staff Anna and Jake were brilliant too!The hotel itself is a lovely old traditional building with exposed wooden pillars and a large communal area downstairs. I would not hesitate to return to the Guest House again, it was a highlight of our trip to Japan.For context our party consisted of 4 English speaking friends in our early 30s.

The hotel's operators and staff are fluent in English, warm and friendly, making you feel at home. The room is not a suite. The shared bathroom must be sufficient and neat and clean. During business hours, you can pick up and drop off to nearby ski resorts. Worth recommending👍

The best and beyond for this type of accommodation:10 out of 10. Koji & Chikako use all their passion and love to take care of the guests, making them the best accommodation owners I've ever come across. I love everything there, especially:- Pickup & drop-off from most ski fields- Breakfast- Clean beds and shower area- Onsen in the shower area- Music and vibe- Walking distance to restaurantsI wish I could stay much longer period there.

This might have been the best Guest House experience I’ve ever had!The hosts Koji and Chikako, and the team of staffs Jake, Anna and Ah Mi had been amazing, they really go beyond and above to made my stay enjoyable!The dormitory was clean and tidy, the common area is super chilled and relaxed, the shared bathroom and toilets were always clean (the deep soak bath is a must after a day at the slope).The location of the lodge is also amazing! Would definitely come back again :)Thank you!

If I could, I would give 10 stars. I can't express enough how great it was to stay at the guesthouse with Chikako and Koji as hosts.They are such kind people who genuinely care about their guests and each person's stay at the guesthouse, providing the best hospitality imaginable.The guesthouse is super nice and has a very cosy chalet vibe. Everything is very clean and you have everything you need. Breakfast is served from early on so that you can hit the slopes whenever you want. Koji will drop you at the slopes at your desired time and also pick you up.The rooms are very nice with cosy beds and enough space for all your things. There is a ski room for all your gear, as well as a washing machine and a tumbler.The showers are nice and there is also a nice hot bath to relax after a day on the slopes.The location is great, a 10-minute walk from the Happo Bus Terminal (a bit uphill, but it was no issue at all), in a beautiful and quiet location. They will pick you up and drop you off whenever needed.Chikako and Koji will make sure to accommodate you in any way they can in regards to anything. Making reservations at restaurants, checking for rentals, public transport connections, getting groceries, you name it.Unfortunately, on my first day on the slopes, I got injured and was immobile for 2 days. Chikako got me dinner and brought it to my room, while Koji dropped me and picked me up from physio several times. They were so genuinely caring and concerned, and I could not imagine staying at a better place, given the circumstances.Again thank you for everything Chikako and Koji (Anna and Jake too!!) and while I'm sad to leave, I'm very grateful to have found this place and will make sure I can come back.

An incredible experience! Koji and Chikako go above and beyond to make you feel at home. I am a female solo traveler, they make sure that I feel comfortable and safe, I only booked a shared room, but they upgraded me to their private family room. I was super lucky to stay at their place. This is the most unforgettable accommodation I have ever booked in my life.The complimentary shuttle service to ski resorts and around town is a game-changer. The ski rental service will also pick you up and drop you off at the guesthouse. They'll even drive you to a restaurant or an Onsen, ensuring personalized care from 7 am to 9:30 pm, making night skiing a breeze. Exceptional hosts, highly recommended!

It is my second year staying with this guest house. Chikako san and Koji san are super friendly and helpful. The property is very clean and cozy. The shuttle service is convenient. I accidentally got injured in the ski resort and it was Koji who helped me communicate with the patrol and nurse in the clinic. Staying with the guest house really feels like being home. Will definitely come back again!

Koji and ChikaKo, where do I even begin? This is by far the best place I have ever stayed at in Japan. The love and warmth this place and yourselves provide is out of this world. The amount of assistance you have provided is amazing and so appreciated, I can’t even begin to describe how at home I felt. All the people who work at the guest house are so lovely and I appreciate all their hard work for making our stay so comfortable. The pure happiness and joy you both have for meeting new people and always greeting them after a big day out at the snow goes such a long way. secondly, the breakfasts, the house, lifts to the mountains, the rooms, the onsens in the bathrooms, there is no fault at all. Everything was perfect! Thank you to everyone who made my stay an experience and a memorable one. So much love for the guest House hakuba, I’ll be back. 🤍

Koji and Chikako were some of the best hosts you could have! Extremely accommodating and kind. Building is in a good location and has a great homey feel to it. Would recommend to anyone visiting Hakuba!
