I stayed at the Berg-land Hotel in January 2024, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The hotel exudes quaint and cozy charm, and everything was spotlessly clean. What truly set our stay apart was the incredible hospitality of the general manager, Tony, and his outstanding staff. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the bar and the gaming zone, where guests can gather to enjoy books, video games, board games, and other activities. It was a wonderful way to unwind and connect with other guests in the evenings, embracing old-fashioned entertainment in a communal setting. I highly recommend the Berg-land Hotel for anyone seeking a warm, inviting, and well-maintained place to stay. I will certainly be staying there again on my next visit to Hakuba.

The location of the hotel is perfect. Close to the bus terminal made it so easy. We didn’t have a car during our stay and it was easy to walk for food and drinks. Tony and his staff made us feel at home as soon as we walked through the door. They made sure we knew all the tricks to getting around the village for food and extra ski gear, knowledge is king. I loved having a beer at the bar and a chat about where to ski/snowboard or eat. Nothing was too much trouble for the crew! They have a shuttle to take you out for meals at their restaurant’s throughout the village. The rooms are traditional Japanese style, warm and opening widows for fresh air. Drying room is large with plenty of room for everyone to spread out their gear. The place has a proper snow hotel vibe and I would not hesitate to stay on my next visit to Hakuba!

We just finished our 3 week stay at Berg Land and wow, what an incredible 3 weeks it was.The manager Tony and team have done an exceptional job making the environment a true home away from home.The rooms are traditional Japanese style with Tatami mat flooring and we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of both wardrobe and storage space which meant we could completely unpack and make the room our own for the 3 weeks. Also the upstairs Onsen is an absolute must after a big day on the snow!As others have mentioned, the location for access to snow resort buses, restaurants, and Lawson is incredible. Everything is at maximum a 10 minute walk away.The absolute stand out for us is the downstairs bar and lounge space which Tony, the staff, and other guests, frequent throughout the day. We lost count of the number of people we met and conversations we had down there and we found ourselves spending most nights, either before or after dinner, chatting away with a cold Sapporo in hand.We'll miss Berg Land but it definitely won't be the last time we stay there! We encourage all others to do the same and enjoy a truly special Japanese alps experience

Great place to stay. Friendly staff and very easy going. I fell sick during my trip and Tony we above and beyond to make sure I got good medication from a local pharmacy. 100% will be going back, couldn’t recommend this place enough. Right near Lawson and the bus terminal is perfect location.

1st time staying at Berg-land Hotel and i enjoyed it!Very convenient location (next door to happo bus terminal) and a stones throw from "Lawsons", 5 minute walk to happo one chair lifts.The rooms were simple (yet comfortable) Japanese inspired with there own toilet and shower, there is an onset on the 5 th floor with views over looking happo oneTony and the team made as more than welcome, it was no problem for them to book dinner, sightseeing and other activities for us.one of my crew fell ill and tony (in his personal time) drove us around to get to the doctors and pharmacy.Tony also took us out on an afternoon of riding of Happo one showing us some sneaky side shoots and hidden tree runs.Id happily stay there againThanks

What a great place to stay! Tony and the team were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy and had all we needed. The hotel Onsen was perfect too. Being part of the Hakuba Group of hotels was helpful for getting around the village and for making reservations for dinner etc. Being located beside the Happo bus terminal and near the Lawson convenience store was a big plus. Would definitely stay there again!

Stayed at Berg-Land for 5 nights and was honestly such an awesome experience! The staff are all legends! Shoutout to Tony the manager for his hospitality and insider information for the slopes! The rooms are great and the onsen is perfect. The location is unbeatable, bus terminal next door and heaps of restaurants nearby, even has a Lawsons across the road. Would 100% stay here again and will be recommending it!

This property was fantastic!! We were confused when we couldn’t find many reviews but were told by Tony, the hotel manager, it’s because this place is actually “new” anyways, we are so happy that we decided to commit and go with this hotel. I can’t stress enough how fantastic of a location it is if you are wanting to ski all the Hakuba resorts. It is literally right next to the Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal and you can get anywhere. Having taken the train, had a bunch of gear and bags it was so nice to get off the bus from Nagano and just walk 20 feet and be at the hotel. At night you are a short walk from bars, food, entertainment. There is a Lawsons store kitty corner to the hotel that has snacks, food, and beer. Again, if you train from Tokyo then bus from Nagano and want easy access and a short walk to the bus terminal then this is the place. They have a fantastic warming room with ski, snowboard, boot space for all of your things. The rooms are traditional but very comfortable and fantastic views! HIGHLY recommend. 9.7/10. The pictures are views from our room. I didn't even mention the bar located in the hotel as well as an Onsen on the 5th floor where we stayed, not sure if they are on every floor. The staff was incredibly kind as well, I don't remember all the names but Tony, the manager, was extremely gracious and knowledgeable about where to ski based on what we were looking for!

I think it's enough if you think of it as a business hotel for overnight stays.I mainly use it for skiing, and I've only stayed there once for a bike event in June.The correct solution for the parking lot is to enter by reversing, while the road side is wide and the entrance is narrow at the back.The location is less than a minute's walk from Happo Bus Terminal, with a Lawson diagonally across and a hot spring facility on the other side of the road.The location conditions are perfect.When I used it three years ago, it was open for breakfast and dinner, but all the cooks resigned due to the new coronavirus outbreak.There is a fine restaurant, but it does not currently serve any food.There is a ski locker room in the basement, which is spacious enough, but the skis and moldy boots that have been left there for years give off a suspicious atmosphere.Other than that, I feel like I have everything I need.Unlike Tazawakan in Sugadaira Kogen, there is no microwave even though they don't serve meals, and there is a microwave in the lobby, which is very useful.I've used this place several times, and the old man who seems to be the host here seems more slender every time I meet him.It seems like it's getting harder and harder to ask for complicated things, and I'm seriously doubtful whether he'll be alive when I visit Hakuba next season.In fact, this is the inn. It's currently March, but since the 23rd, Rakuten Travel's reservation page is not fully booked and reservations are no longer possible.The month is also displayed until March, but not April.When I asked the proprietress directly, she said that she has no plans to open the restaurant.It's a convenient location, so it would be a shame if it went out of business.When you look around the inn, you'll notice that guests' lost and forgotten items are left everywhere. The point is, no one is looking around, it's just as it is.Therefore, if you don't take care of your belongings yourself, you can be sure that if something happens to your host or landlady, you won't be able to rely on them.Depending on the results of the Happo-one test that will be taken soon, it may come next winter, or it may not come for a while.I have to think about where to stay at that time.

Thank you for helping me with my mountain climbing in summer and winter. thank you very much. It seems to be run by an elderly couple. I got the impression that the room was clean and well-maintained. When I stayed there in winter, the futon was warm and I slept comfortably. The owner's husband is a friendly person, and when I return from outside, he greets me with many things to talk to me about, while saying ``Welcome home''. Since this is basically an inn used by skiers, there is also a drying room. Perhaps because the couple is elderly, they no longer provide meals. Lawson across the street has a wide variety of products, so I think it's a good idea to buy your lunch there if you're staying here.

Clean,VERY SPACIOUS, and run by two cute ojichan and obachan ❤️Lawson convenience store is right opposite, bus terminal is right beside, not only so, there’s an in-house Onsen so that you don’t need to squeeze with others at the public one!I really really LOVE this place and the owners 😭❤️ regret not staying here for my first two nights.Even though ojichan doesn't speak much English, he really treated us super kindly like reminding us when the shuttle bus is coming, trying to help us with our luggage even though he is 80, insisting to personally show us where the laundry area is ( he almost fell down while walking 😢), showing us picture albums, chatting with us, and even gifting us a 2023 Hakuba calendar 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵To ojichan:Thank you, Grandpa, and I wish you health and happiness! After reading the reviews, I was excited to check in. The old man I heard about was also a talkative person, so I didn't find him unpleasant. There is an elevator, so it is easy to carry heavy luggage.Pensions of similar price often don't come with amenities, but this one was well-equipped with towels, tissues, toothbrushes, a refrigerator, safe, toilet, bath, and hand-washing area.The changing room at the hot spring was also clean.Access is easy as it is next to a large intersection. I would like to use it again.
