Very little interaction with monks. It doesn't give you the impression of sleeping in a monastery.

Beautiful temple, excellent for staying on occasion of visits to Mount Koya; the rooms are splendid (not all with private bathrooms, but the common ones are huge and very clean), the environment is even more so. It is possible to eat with the monks' typical dinner and breakfast, meditate with them and attend the morning prayer. The location is great for exploring the surroundings, you can rent bikes.

A wonderful experience. The rooms have air conditioning, TV and safe. The meals are also traditional. In the morning you can also join the praying monks.

Nice and quiet, easy to find. Prebooked Cemetery tour which was excellent but strict rules on showers/ bathing which in ^ 30 deg temps not helpful after a tour with ++ walking. Also gate closures didn’t accommodate tour.
