The room on upper floor looks nice but the room we had on the ground floor was just alright. It is a living room turned into a guest room, decent and clean but looks quite gloomy. The walls are extremely thin and directly connected to the kitchen, the main hall and the lobby which means lots of noise from other guests. A couple came back at 1am and I could hear them talking and walking until they went to sleep.

At a bargain price, this is a convenient option in Shingu, walking distence from the train station and shrines. Bathroom is shared, and they have no elevator for carrying your luggage to the 2nd floor. Also, the toilet getts clogged very easily. But on the other hand, everything was very well organized, and they wrote me a reception note in my native language (Hebrew), which was very heartwarming.

Self check-in. All necessities available. It’s 15min walk away from train station but there are buses which are accessible to tourist attractions. Stayed on the 1st floor which is between the kitchen and hall. Gets noisy as I can hear guests talking in the kitchen and even from second floor. Gets rather cold at night… at least in April.

Great place to stay in Shingu. You will be close to the main things to see like Nachi Waterfalls, Kumano Hongū-taisha, Kumano Hayatama-taisha.It's a very simple traditional house but with everything you need like towels, tea 🍵coffee ☕️ oranges 🍊 and sometimes sake 😂Common areas such as the bathroom 🛀 and toilets 🚽 are clean. The lady is adorable and full of lovely touches. When I arrived there was a note written for me in French 🇫🇷 adorable!👎🏻 negative point: it's not very well insulated, I was cold at night but it was okay 😊I recommend this place if you are on a budget 💚

I used it during marine sports on the Kumano River. The water pressure in the shower was strong, the toilet and bath were clean, and there was air conditioning and Wi-Fi, which was helpful. The last day is a world heritage site! The hotel is conveniently located within a few minutes walk from Hayatama Taisha, one of Kumano's three major shrines, and Kamikura Shrine, which hosts the fire festival. Even though it's in a residential area, it's within walking distance to restaurants and convenience stores, which was very nice.
