It was my first time staying in Wakayama Prefecture, and my first time staying in a private lodging. From Kansai Airport, I took the Nankai Airport Line to Wakayama City Station in about 50 minutes. It takes about 10 minutes by taxi from the station to the facility, and it is located in a calm residential area. The house has been beautifully renovated, and the first floor has a Japanese-style room, living/dining room, kitchen, and bathroom, and it feels very clean. In the dining room, you can feel the owner's commitment to Cassina furniture, interior decoration, and lighting. For dinner, we bought some delicious local food at a supermarket along the way and had it in the dining room. The kitchen also has plates, cutlery, glasses and a fridge for guest use.The towels were fluffy Imabari towels, the sheets were clean, and the futon was soft, so I slept soundly in the Japanese-style room. The owner is very friendly and is fluent in languages, so there are many customers from overseas. I was told that a hiking course in the back mountains was recommended, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go this time. I would definitely like to go next time.At first I was worried about what it would be like to stay in a private lodging, but during my stay I was able to enjoy a very relaxing stay as my privacy was protected just like in a hotel or inn.Next time, I think it would be perfect for a long stay in the summer and a workday. I have to plan!

Used it for the first time with a friend. Beautiful and fluffy futons in a stylish interior. I was able to sleep soundly! There were plenty of amenities, so there was no problem even if you came empty-handed. (There are no pajamas, so you need to prepare your own)There were some restaurants nearby, so I walked there after checking in.There was a supermarket and a drug store near the restaurant, but it's about a 15-minute walk from each place, so if you don't like walking, it might be easier to shop first if you need to.(There is apparently another shop after passing through the tunnel in the opposite direction, but please be careful as the tunnel sidewalk is narrow.)This time I had made a reservation at a nearby restaurant for dinner, but since I had time to spare, I decided to hike to the observation deck near my hotel and Wakaura Tenmangu Shrine. The view from the observation deck was a wonderful place where you could see all around! After the observation deck, I continued walking to Tenmangu Shrine, but apparently the grounds were locked at 4pm...unfortunately, I couldn't make it there in time. Then, the road to the inn was like climbing up a steep slope from the street and going down a little... There are several ways to get there, so it's best to check them first. The road was a little narrow, but I was able to pass each other without any problems. If you go up the wrong path, it will be difficult to make a U-turn, so be careful!

I went to Wakayama Prefecture for the first time in my life to visit Kumano Kodo. After taking a car from Kansai Airport and sightseeing in Wakayama City, I looked for a place that was easily accessible from the expressway and where we could all eat inside the facility, and decided on this one. You can also park your car!You can also get quite fresh sashimi at nearby supermarkets, and we recommend the Nodoguro sashimi! We spent our time cooking local vegetables. Wakayama's local sake, Kito, is also recommended! When I checked the exterior on Street View, it was overgrown with trees, but it had actually been maintained and looked quite refreshing. The interior is very stylish and all the furniture is first class! The futon was also great. The host was very friendly and easy to talk to, so it was a great stay! There is also a hiking course behind the building, offering a panoramic view of the ocean and Wakayama city. I would like to stay for several nights next time!
