We had a bit of a teething problem, but the hotel sorted out our problems immediately and was super sweet and accommodating. The breakfast is very good and the staff are super friendly and accommodating, we would love to visit this hotel again in the future!

Gumi Ayu Ecostay is located on a hillside with beautiful views of the jungle and the nearby waterfall. The staff is extremely friendly and extremely attentive. The breakfast was very tasty and you could have ordered more at any time. Since we stayed in the hotel for three nights, we were even given a dessert for dinner and we had more choice at breakfast. Unfortunately our room (we had booked the cheaper option in the main building) was not very appealing. In the bathroom, which is a bit old, there was mold on the walls and countless ants crawling on the floor. The room itself had a beautiful view of the rainforest, but there were also lots of ants, the bedding was dirty and you had to run an air vent at night to prevent moisture from collecting in the room.We therefore didn't feel very comfortable in the room. Unfortunately the WiFi wasn't particularly stable either, but that's a minor matter. Overall, we were unfortunately less satisfied with our stay.

Fantastic. The best place I’ve ever stayed in Indonesia. Close to and well integrated with nature, quiet and starry at night, exceptional food, lovely staff - perfect. Will be back if it’s ever possible!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Gumi Ayu. Our room offered a stunning view of the forest, creating a serene atmosphere throughout our visit. The staff at this eco-stay were exceptional—always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness. The food at their restaurant was also delightful; we enjoyed several meals during our three-night stay. Plus, the hike to two nearby waterfalls- (Munduk waterfalls and Golden valley ) is just a short walk away, adding even more to the experience. Access to the rooms and cottages is via steep steps, but the staff is extremely helpful and attentive, readily assisting with carrying luggage.We cant wait to return soon.

Staff were very attentive and the food at breakfast and dinner was amazing. Room was gorgeous but got very hot and humid and the fan didn’t do enough so room never quite cooled down. Amazing sunset from the restaurant.

Beautiful location in the jungle, very comfortable bed and very attentive, kind and helpful staff. We really loved our stay. Don't worry about the lack of air conditioning - you will not need it, as it gets quite cool at night (17-18 degrees Celsius when we were there in early September). Depending on which room you book, there may be a lot of steep stairs along the mountain side between the lobby and your room, so be prepared. The staff are happy to help carry your luggage for you.The hotel is located right next to a big network of walking trails that'll take you through traditional villages and to a few different waterfalls. Be in shape and have good walking shoes, as some sections are quite challenging. Also note that depending on how far you go, you may find yourself hiking for several hours.The breakfast choices are excellent and the Western food options for lunch/dinner are great. I would advise not to bother with the Indonesian options (especially the rendang - third picture), as they are essentially unrecognizable due to the hotel catering primarily to European tourists.Overall highly recommended!

The accommodation is beautiful. The views are spectacular. Incredibly attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant is very delicious and well priced. We also had a massage and it was great. They helped us organize excursions and transportation. Very complete and rich breakfast.

This is our favorite place to stay in Bali and we’ve been all over the island. It is an absolute GEM. We will always come back, every time. Nothing like it, the views are literally breathtaking. Staff is amazing and so is the food. Just all around heaven!
