The hostel is a bit run down and there’s not really a vibe. However, the location is very close to the port of Honmura. The mattress was too thin. However, all was clean. Late check in will cost you 1000 yen more.

It was perfect for a solo traveler. I was a little disappointed that there was no coffee provided.

Fine if you are on a tight budget. I paid 3000 yen for a dorm room. It's an unstaffed hostel. You have to let the owner know when you will arrive and then he will turn up for a few minutes to tell you the passcode for the door and give you a quick tour of the hostel. There are private rooms and 4 capsule style beds. The hostel was clean but there was not enough body wash in the shower. The location is good, next to Honmura port and near the Art House installations. I would stay here again if I was on a budget and travelling alone.

Nice place that can do with "spring cleaning". Only 1 shower and 2 toilet for 10 or so people but it workes...

Very kawaii, budget-friendly place with 2 private rooms with bunk-beds and several pod beds in the hallway. Common room with small kitchen, separate showers for women and men, one clean toilet (lile most toilets inJapan). Our host, Kozo, was very friendly and helpful, with above-average English skills. Highly recommended for backpackers and other travellers on a budget.

place is simple and they only have 4pods I believe to crash during the busy setouchi art festival season. the air conditioner switch is very tricky, make sure it is on otherwise you will be pretty sweaty at hot summer night. Not many people travel back packer style in Japan for some reason and I am the only guest that stayed at pods that night. Place is very convenient with the nearest artwork 1min walk away. The bus stop is 3min away from the hostel as well. Overall, recommend.

It was for me the perfect stay at naoshima. Nice bed in a cool capsule. And very close to all the art house projects. Directly by the sea and view on the other islands. On top of that the host Takuma is a super nice guy with a great laugh and smile that helped me find out a nice stay for my following days, advice for nice food... thanks for this all!
