I would recommend for a night stay, but maybe not for longer than that.It is quite different from all the other guesthouse I went to. The chamber was comfortable although we did not had access to the AC controls. AC was set from 6:00pm to 6:00am. So between these hours it was just impossible to stay in the chamber. There is also no insulation in the rooms. The guest next room got back super late at night and decided to watch tv at 1:30am, which was unfortunate and very annoying. The bathroom is very small, your knees are poking the wall. It was clean though, but the installations are old.The house is like an open space with the courtyard, so there is no AC and it gets very humid. The courtyard is nice though, with trees and turtles doing their thing. For the price it was ok, bit we didn’t felt very comfortable in the end. It’s also very close to kii tanabe station. The host was very kind!

Koji is a wonderful host! We stayed with him at the start of our Kumano Kodo journey and he has helped us so much. His home is a wonderful treasure cove filled with cute objects. The rooms are cozy and spacious, in the traditional Japanese style. We slept so good and had such a wonderful welcome to Kumano Kodo! Thank you Koji for your hospitality! An unforgettable experience!

The CP value is very high, with traditional Japanese accommodation experience, comfortable sleep, and you can make friends from all over the world! Chat and talk with them! The boss is kind and generous. Although he does not communicate in Taiwanese language, he still knows what he is expressing and introducing! He is an honest operator! The quilts have a sense of history, but each piece is clean and has no dust mite smell. You can buy fruits from outside in the room, wash them on the first floor and put them on the boss's plate, and then eat in the room. It feels like going home! The disadvantage is that I am very fat and the toilet is so small, haha

Great location near Kii-Tanabe Station. I missed my train so my arrival time ended up being much later than I originally anticipated. I was in communication with Koji throughout and he was helpful and understanding. When I arrived he helped me with my luggage and gave me advice on my upcoming Kumano Kodo hike. He let me leave my luggage with him and return for it after my hike. I'd recommend starting your hike with a stay here.

A few minutes walk from the east exit of JR Wakayama Station. The room is very clean, the flushing water is large and hot, there is a rich breakfast in the morning, and there is a water dispenser in the lobby 24 hours a day. We arrived at 11pm.* I bought the wrong Hainan Wakayama Station at Kansai Airport. It should be JR Wakayama Station. Be careful when getting to this point from the airport.

The hostel occupies an entire traditional Japanese house. It is near the train station and the UNESCO site in town. The kitchen is well equipped. You can do laundry by hand or use the washing machine on the ground floor. Koji is a very considerate and informative host.
