I had a meal at Mari Shimajuku about 20 years ago, and it was an inn I had always wanted to stay at someday. When I suddenly wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and relax, I remembered this inn on Shodoshima. This time, I stayed with Mari Kaito for several nights, and for the first time in my life, I experienced the luxury of doing nothing! I was soothed by the sound of the ocean, and I kept looking at the ocean with the windows open.The creative olive kaiseki menu is also very satisfying! Since we were staying multiple nights, we had a special menu for the second day, and the room and bathroom were both wonderful and very moving. I was moved by the owner's thoughts, and it has become a place I definitely want to visit at least once a year.

10/8-9 I stayed for one night at "Yu" no Oto.This stay was to celebrate the birthday of a loved one and also to propose, and we had a really wonderful time in Mari Kaito's wonderful room. It was a memorable trip and I am very satisfied. I would like to visit again on my next wedding anniversary trip. Thank you very much for your time.

The restaurant's quiet location, appearance, cuisine, and use of Imari and Bizen pottery, private use of the public bath, and well-trained staff make it clear that they have paid attention to various aspects. Overall, a recommended inn.It's a very good inn, so I'll point out only two bad points below.There weren't many rental cars available during the Obon holidays, so I had no choice but to rent a light car for my visit, but I had to smile bitterly when I was complimented by different staff members on my light car when I arrived and when I left.This kind of ``tickling'' is effective because it touches the customer's self-esteem, and if it doesn't, wouldn't it have the opposite effect? Silence is the golden word.My companion and I laughed bitterly at how well-trained the staff was, for better or for worse.Second, there was an unintentional step near the bed in the guest room, and my companion and I almost tripped over it, so I don't think there's anything we can do about it...

7/19-20 Thank you for your help at "E". Since it was my first time on Shodoshima, I chose Mari Oto, which is a top class inn, and it was a great decision. Everything from the welcome upon arrival, the bath, Olive Kaiseki, dinner, breakfast, and check-out was perfect, both in terms of quality and customer service. I've traveled a lot both domestically and internationally, but this is the best accommodation I've ever stayed in, both in terms of scenery and situation. I had a lively conversation with the lady who checked me out on the way home, and I was able to leave with a smile on my face from beginning to end. The lunch at the cafe restaurant (Season) that you taught me was also very delicious (^^) Thank you very much. I look forward to visiting you every year, so please come again next time.
