The public bath/onsen facilities are dreadful if you are female. I felt completely unsafe, there is little to no security measures. The onsen is “overlooking the bay”, but let’s say the bay is also overlooking you.Besides the horrible setup of the onsen, it was not what I imagined a Ryokan to be. No one explains the rules, the service is basic at best, there is no feeling that the staff wants you to “experience the traditions of Japan”, they just put some slippers in your room and expect you to do whatever it is you’re supposed to do. It’s basically just a mediocre hotel with beds on the floor. The food is alright quality, a lot of food, a lot of little dishes, and it depends a lot on the people at work whether the service is good or not. (There was one woman at our second dinner and breakfast who was very good, but the rest of the service was minimal.) You don’t get the food in your room, but are placed in a very big hall without any atmosphere, with other hotel guests. If you’re the last one having dinner (mind you, it’s one of the times that they allow you to choose from) they start cleaning already so you need to stuff yourself as quickly as possible and get out of there. The location is perfect for the red and green lines, you’re able to sightsee a lot of things. The rooms are big, but very basic and empty, with minimal traditional decor compared to other onsen or compared to traditional tea houses or restaurants.Would not recommend if you’re looking for the Ryokan experience. Would also not recommend for women wanting to try onsen.Otherwise, if you’re looking for a place to sleep with a big breakfast at the lake, it’s fine.

After having stayed in many different Ryokan or mishuku this was by far the least. It is quite outdated, the rooms, hallways and the onsen are old and need some refurbishment. Positive things are the good location and the good dinner and breakfast. The red-bus line stops right in front, and it is just an 10-15’ walk to the station.
