Sadly the otherwise amazing property was held back by poor management to the point of putting profit ahead of safety and well-being of its own staff and guests. We routinely saw cars (including h2life’s own support van!) slipping down the steep road in front of the property. Despite notifying management by email to come with chains and shovels, it was met with radio silence until the inevitable happened on an icy morning when h2life’s own van became part of a chain collision between 3 cars, and we were left to ourselves to deal with police inquiries. The staff who came to the accident scene was also incredibly unhelpful and was there only to clear their own names (the driver doesn’t speak Japanese) and acted as if we the guests didn’t exist! Luckily we are experienced travelers and fluent in Japanese so all went well other than losing a whole day worth of skiing.Another unlucky group living further down the road, also managed by h2life, missed their return flight due to the accident and yet was asked to vacant their place anyway to accommodate incoming guests!I felt sorry for their own staff as some of them were actually super nice and capable (e.g. Okada-san), but hampered by incompetent armchair management who is absolutely clueless as to what’s actually going on in the front line. They should never had taken more business than they could safely handle. This is too bad as the property is otherwise situated in a beautiful location with an amazing view of sunrise over Mt Yotei. I would instead check out the neighboring Yamakei Residences (and yes, they have chains on their support van, a must according to their staff. Super grateful to them as despite not being their clients, they had kindly provided us with free parking space and also helped with clearing snow from our cars)Avoid h2life!

Spacious bedrooms, great facilities and the gorgeous volcano view in the living room. Great service from the real estate manage office. Free shuttle twice a day is also handy for us to get equipment up to the hill. They also helped to drop off two friends who had to catch their train on a snow storm day.The only thing we noticed is some kerosene smell in one of the bedroom but they came to fix it right away the next day.
