I was glad I stayed there for two nights in 2023, so I was thinking of going again this year, but it was temporarily closed. When I called and asked about it, I was told that the campsite would not be usable until 2025 due to the removal of the ski jump.When I stayed there last year, the locals brought us a large amount of corn, and everyone camping enjoyed it.It's a shame that I can't stay this year because I enjoyed talking with locals and travelers.

This is a campground where you can relax and enjoy a great location with a view of Mt. Yotei in front of you, and I come back every year.There's no need to make a reservation, and the process is easy, just fill out a usage form, and there are plenty of BBQ tables available, so you can feel free to use it in groups or solo.There is a kitchen building and a simple toilet. Shopping is also nearby and convenient.Thank you to Kutchan Town Hall and all the townspeople!

Many people came because it was free. Local people, high school students (club activities?). That being said, there are a ridiculous amount of mosquitoes lurking around, and if you don't take precautions, you'll always be surrounded by 5 or 6 mosquitoes.

Great location.I used it during the summer of the 23rd season, and there were definitely some wild croakers, so I would recommend solo.It's difficult to transport, but you can see Mt. Yotei better from the back of the hill.

If the weather is clear, you can camp while looking at Mt. Yotei. The site itself is a decent size, but the parking space isn't that big, and since it's free and unmanned, I've seen some people question the morals of parking. There are two temporary toilets. I often see people staying for a long time, probably because it's free of charge and the location, but I get the unfortunate impression that they leave their utensils in the kitchen and make a lot of noise.
