I have never experienced anywhere like Shiguchi and I doubt I will experience anywhere like it again. I hope to come back one day.The grounds, accommodations, staff and food are all 10/10. Well, well worth it.

Shiguchi is simply an unbelievable place that won a spot in our hearts. Everything was sublime, from the kind staff, through the mini boggling design to the food. Thank you Shiguchi team, and we will surely see you again soon 🙏💕

Visited on September 2023 (stayed at Sky and Fire)It is the perfect place for people living in a busy modern society to create some "blank space" in their daily lives. The rooms are like galleries, and the lighting, furniture, and furnishings are all filled with the owner's attention to detail. We had a delicious meal, soaked in a hot spring with a wonderful view, the smell of a wood stove burning in our room, and the sound of birds chirping surrounded by nature. We had a rich time that we enjoyed with all our five senses.

In a league of its own— probably Japan’s only luxury environment where authenticity, heritage, and heart shine through. Most others seem to peddle tradition yet to then display key focus on taking money off of tourists or busy urbanites while delivering only sterile environments in return. This property is an awe-inspiring ode to history and humanity, through the lens of Hokkaido and Shiguchi’s brilliant proprietor SG. Recommended in the highest terms to anyone with taste.

Shiguchi is more an experience than a place. An experience that allows you to reflect on your existence in one of the most beautiful corners of Japan.Every detail of my stay feels like it has been carefully considered, with enough on offer to class this as hyper-luxurious but only as much as is needed to keep a sense of minimalism; allowing you to be the main occupant of the space.Waking up to a snow laden valley-view brings the best part of wild camping and fuses it with a cosy Sunday morning bedroom experience. Only the room's adjacent onsen providing the excuse to get up and experience the crisp winter air whilst keeping your body enveloped in the warmth.Receiving a tour of the gallery space also showcases how deeply the artistic vein runs through the architecture and design. If walking inside of artwork could be experienced, Shiguchi is as close as I will come to it.
