We had a wonderful stay in Kyoto, and Yoko-san and this ryokan were a huge reason why. The location was perfect, the place itself was beautiful, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful. The breakfast was also sublime. We were lucky enough to enjoy two different Japanese breakfasts and they were both incredible. You will not be disappointed by your stay here.

Yoko went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable at Mitsuki Ryokan. We loved the delicious traditional Japanese breakfast. The room was cute, cosy and very warm(we visited in January). If you are looking for a truly Japanese experience with the most amazing host and facilities, this place is for you.

We stayed here in April 2024. This ryokan was by far the highlight of our trip. Yoko-san our host was very friendly and welcoming and greeted us warmly from the moment we entered and until we left. The ryokan itself is amazing. It is in a quiet local part of town but very close to a train station. The ryokan was the perfect mix of traditional and modern as the bathrooms were renovated and were very clean. The Japanese breakfast that was prepared was one of the best meals we had in Japan and I still remember it to this day. Yoko-san was also very kind and helpful in recommending local spots for us. A highly recommended place in Kyoto that I will surely visit again.

Yoko was a gracious host - super friendly from start to finish and accommodating! The place/room was very clean and spacious which was appreciated. If you haven’t booked breakfast here, I’d say it’s a must do! We got a special Japanese breakfast which was beautifully served and all tasted amazing - it was prepared vegetarian for us (upon request).

Great traditional ryokan, Japanese beds are very comfortable and the breakfast is delicious! The location is also good, being only a short walk to the subway.Yoko is a gracious host and so accommodating. She let us check in early, provided an early breakfast so we wouldn't miss our flight, and provided some recommendations for gluten-free eating. Oh, and the breakfast was also gluten free.

Mitsuki Ryokan is a great place to stay in Kyoto to experience the traditional Japanese way.It is located in a quiet neighborhood with multiple bus stops and a subway station located nearby. The area felt very safe even early in the morning and late at night. There are multiple restaurants and izakayas located nearby. The rooms are in the traditional Japanese layout and they are clean and neat. Amenities such as coffee, tea, electric kettle, fridge, and bathroom ammenities are also provided. We opted for the Japanese breakfast during our stay and it was such a pleasure to try all the different unique traditional dishesThe hosts were also very friendly and accommodating. They recommended some local restaurants and attractions to visit and they were even able to make dinner reservations for us.
