An inn located in an alley near Shijo, Kyoto. This facility is a renovated old folk house.firstThere was no one to guide me, so I was confused as to how to open the entrance.I rang the chime of the house on the other side and they gave me the key. There are flowers outside the entrance, which will lift your spirits.Basically, this is an accommodation that can be enjoyed by travelers from overseas. The accommodation facilities are complete and the accommodation is clean. The second floor has a bedroom and bath.A good point is that there is not only a shower, but also a bathtub. You can take a relaxing bath. There is also a small courtyard where you can enjoy the lanterns and greenery. There's no fire, but there's a kitchen so you can buy something. If you choose to include breakfast, they will prepare a catered breakfast for you the next morning. Most of the dishes are vegetables, so I feel light in my stomach even after eating them.

This was our first experience staying at a ryokan. We have 5 people and really enjoyed it! First, the house was very unique. It was 133 years old but very well preserved. The house was very functional. We has a spacious dining room/living room area and also 2 bathrooms - one upstairs and one downstairs. Upstairs one bedrooms has two single beds and then in a separate bedroom we had 3 beds on the tatami. The beddings and beds were very comfortable and the rooms were super quiet as the house is located in a private alley way.The host was wonderful! We received excellent breakfast service every morning with beautiful presentations. Also on the first morning we got a private tea ceremony from the host - absolutely a great experience, especially brushing the matcha tea for our kids :) We would love to stay at this ryokan again if we return to Kyoto. Highly recommend it!

Anyway, it was a great experience. The quiet and quaint townhouse has been well-maintained and is a wonderful space. The incense burnt for hospitality instantly lifted my mood. This time I used it for an anniversary and asked them to decorate it.Their interactions are very friendly and polite.I was very satisfied with the attention to detail! It was the best stay I've ever had and I'm really grateful. We will also use it at milestone times!

It was my first time staying in Kyoto, and I chose this inn to entertain my family from overseas, and it was perfect in every way!The location was close to the station and within walking distance to Nishiki Market, and when we entered the room, they lit some very nice incense, and from that moment on, everyone was impressed. The room was an old private house that had been renovated very well, so it was clean, stylish, and I enjoyed the interior. It's a great feeling to be in an open-air bath even though you're in the city, and there are two bathtubs, so even if you go with a large number of people, you'll have plenty of time to relax.Above all, the staff were very polite, attentive, reliable, and provided professional service, and my foreign family, including myself, was impressed.Thank you very much for giving me a really good experience. This hotel is definitely recommended!

I had a matcha experience after checking in! The tea and sweets were also delicious and it was a valuable experience. The outside bath was nice and I was able to take a relaxing bath. It was also very nice that the towels were fluffy. The hair dryer and curling iron were from Kinuonna, which made me feel better!I'm happy that you were able to celebrate your special anniversary.

Nice and quaint holiday home with full amenities, perfect for big groups!Staff were very thoughtful too - they provided us with heat packs as the weather was turning cold and even led us in as we had lost our way. They were also quick to help us with the questions we had.Early check-in was possible for us as they had prepared the room in advance.Location was quite central: ~10 min walk to the train station, ~20 min walk to Gion, and close to food gems like Shunsai Imari (offering breakfast sets) and Nishinotōin Shokudō (self service food establishment which was rather affordable and visited by many locals).Recommended 👍
