We spent one night in this beautiful machiya renovated with passion by its owner, the establishment is very clean and everything is set up to make you feel at home. We participated in a formal tea ceremony, a private workshop where we had the privilege of being able to ask all the questions we wanted.Recommended establishment for an atypical stay in the heart of Kyoto!

An unforgettable experience. Uronza is an old traditional house that has been completely renovated to accommodate travelers. There is an authentic and pleasant traditional atmosphere which perfectly suited our expectations in terms of immersion, for Europeans. I particularly liked the small garden located inside, which is really pretty and subtly decorated. The owner is very friendly and speaks English. It offers a personal course on the Japanese tea ceremony for a very affordable price (2000 yen/person) compared to specialized establishments, and for an undoubtedly even better experience. In addition, the accommodation prices (4000 yen/person/night) also seem rather low to me for the authenticity of the experience offered. However, one important thing to clarify: there is no air conditioning, so nights are hot in summer, despite the fans and ice pillows provided free of charge. To summarize: excellent value for money!! I highly recommend the experience at Uronza 😄

It's a very elegant B&B. I like the edge and the courtyard the most. Only the lobby can eat and drink. There is also a library and a restored historical book in the lobby. Every day from 12:00 to 16:00 noon is the time for the landlord to clean up. Travelers are not allowed to stay in the B&B. , it can be seen that the owner is really caring about maintaining this place. Most of the spaces are still spotless and very clean without wearing slippers. This time I stayed in a Japanese-style room. I made my own quilts (there is a teaching book), and the landlord prepared enough quilts. Even in Kyoto in autumn (the night temperature is about 10 degrees Celsius), it was very warm. There is heating in the room (it needs to be turned off when sleeping or leaving the room), but the smell of coal burning in the heating is a bit strong, so I didn't use it. The room is 0 soundproof, so it may not be suitable if you are traveling with friends, but it is very suitable for traveling alone. A towel will be provided, and there are shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel in the bathroom, but the ingredients are natural and the hair will be very dry. There is "Hakusan Hot Spring" nearby on foot for about 7 minutes. You can buy a hot spring bath ticket from the landlord. It is very worthwhile and a must-do. There are no restaurants around, so I recommend eating "Zhao Le". There are many bicycles in the B&B that can be rented to travel around Kyoto.Overall it was a great stay and the host was very kind. I will visit again next time.

It is the stay with its charm and you can experience the quiet life of Japanese beauty in a wooden old building. The owner is kind-hearted, with a great compassion to preserve the traditional heritage.
