The room itself was fine, but there was a smell of fishy rags after cleaning. Maybe it's just me being sensitive, but the sink etc. were a bit smelly. Also, the walls of the bathroom were slippery. Also, the washing machine is so old that the inner lid has come off.It was kind of dirty and I didn't feel like using it.One of the red light bulbs in the front door was also burnt out.The location is good, and it's a waste of time to stay here. I would like you to do a little more cleaning.

Enjoyed our stay a lot! There are many machiya options but make sure to book in advance during peak season. Ko, one of the staff at the Matchiya coutner was lovely and extremely helpful. Their team is also very accessible and replies to requests and emails very promptly. Highly recommened booking through them!!!

Conveniently located near the bus stop and subway station. It's located in a residential area, so it's a little hard to find, but the check-in counter gave me detailed instructions, so I was able to get there without any hesitation.I was able to relax and spend time in a wonderful inn with a very calm atmosphere. It was also easy to lock and open without a key by punching in a number. It was nice to be able to take a bath while looking at Tsuboniwa, but the travel agency's brochure said it was a ``cypress'' bath, but in reality it was a ``cypress-colored'' bath. It's a shame because when choosing among several townhouses, the deciding factor was, ``It's a cypress bath, so nice.''The house had been cleaned very well, but when I opened the shoji screen on the second floor and looked down into the kitchen below, there was quite a lot of dust. It's not something you would normally see, but since the rest of it was clean, I was a little concerned.

I stayed with my family of 4. I thought it would be a good idea to rent out the entire building to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and not have to meet other people. The room was clean and I was able to enjoy the atmosphere of a Kyomachiya and feel very relaxed.I have all the cooking utensils, tableware, and pots, so next time I'm thinking it might be a good idea to bring some food and use the pots.I thought it would be nice to have more freedom like this than staying at a normal hotel or inn in Kyoto.
