Excellent hotel, well-worthy of the Hyatt portfolio & brand name.Location is excellent right on the subway Karasuma line, and the rooms are big and comfortable in Japanese standards.Everything was spotlessly clean, shower was great as well, and bed was soft & comfortable. Can highly recommend - especially given the good price for what you get.

I stayed here for three nights with my husband during a trip around Japan. The hotel is very conveniently located right next door to the subway station. There are lots of restaurants and 7/11 stores nearby. The hotel is super clean and decorated for Halloween during our stay. Our room was fine, it was clean, the bed super comfortable and the shower excellent. However, it was an adjoining room and they didn’t make us aware of that. We could clearly hear the people in the adjoining room having conversations like they were in the same room as us - this was not very relaxing and we felt we lacked privacy. There’s a bar in the lobby but it doesn’t open until 5pm. There’s a nice cafe “school bus” directly next door which is a nice, relaxed place to sit and eat/drink.Breakfast is ok, with Japanese options and western. The western isn’t really western food - hot dogs, French fries and salad aren’t eaten in the west at breakfast! I had cereal and pastries every morning. The orange juice was excellent. Two things that really bugged me - the lack of laundry facilities. There are three washer dryers off the lobby. This is NOT enough machines. I tried for two days to wash some clothes but they were constantly in use. On two occasions there were aggressive Chinese tourists trying to jump the line to use the next machine to become available. Please get more laundry machines! The second thing that REALLY bugged me was the lobby music. From the moment we got there to the moment we left, they were playing really weird, creepy Halloween background music - think sounds of people screaming, chains being dragged, wolves howling, monster noises. Even at breakfast we had to listen to this. It put me on edge and made me not want to spend any time in the lobby or breakfast area. I feel so sorry for the lobby staff who have to listen to this 24/7! Put normal music on!

It wasn't worth the price of nearly 60,000 yen for a room without meals. There was no kettle in the room and no welcome tea and sweets. The room is not large, and the location is surrounded by buildings (there are no buildings on two sides of the hotel itself, and a low building on one side), so even if you open the window in a room that is purposely made to face the buildings, I can't see the scenery. It is unpleasant that there is a locked door in the room. It was disappointing.

Score for the overall impression, which is made up of many factorsPros:- SUPER breakfast, where they give grapes, scrambled eggs, red fish, etc.- excellent fresh rooms- quiet location, convenient access to main attractions- in off-season it is cheap relative to what this hotel offers- the staff is very goodCons:One, and the main thing, which essentially lowered the rating from 5 to 2 stars is the hotel’s price management. If you book it in advance, you will pay 30-50% more than if you extend it by one day every day.Made a reservation for tomorrow? When you wake up check, the room rate could have dropped by 50%. I managed to catch such falls and change my reservation in time, but this is not what I would like to do on vacationYou get the feeling that the hotel is treating you like an idiot if you decide to live there for a long time - and will extract as much money from you as possible. Although all over the world it’s the other way around - the earlier you book, the cheaper the roomI booked direct and the "book now and get 20% off" rate was cheaper than just the same day booking rate half the timeThe hotel is good, but after staying I felt that they wanted to deceive me and this spoiled the overall impression. Otherwise it would be 5/5

Best room I've stayed at during my vacation! The room was very very spacious, especially for Japanese standards. Room was clean, and new. The staff were all so friendly and I wish I took down their names so that I can recognize them. …

Really lovely hotel as expected for the brand Hyatt. Check-in was pretty seamless, they offer an espresso coffee in the reception throughout the day for guests. Of course the location is about 20 minutes or a mile away from the main attractions but you know this before booking so can’t hold it against them. I’d recommend and stay again. I think the hotel was newly renovated.

This was a good choice. Fine location at a subway stop with many buses connecting. Good room, if perhaps unmemorable. …

The room was specious right off the subway which makes it extra nice. The concierge was nice and the room was so clean and spacious. Oh by the way the imperial palace is right there and bus 202 takes you to tea district. I highly recommend this property.
